FOR EVERYBODY TO READ: the original ending wasn't meant to be understood as what critics said it was. It literally meant Tong needed to grow to be in a relationship. The dramatic beats (a script writing element to put certain important plots in the story) lead all the way for you to know he loves Mew more than a friend, the doll, the christmas draggy dolls, the dialogue difference between him and donut and him and mew, When Tong said he didn't know who he was it was developed after peer pressure came into the picture because he had gone with the flow without analyzing if he is straight or gay. The director directed the scene between him and ying to make the character realize when he touched her that he didn't like girls. I think the only real 13 year old mystery here is how June knew about the game their dad taught them to play without it being mentioned to her, not even in the director's cut or deleted scenes is there a scene where they explain the clue and seek game, she did it on her own and her last lines "I've something i wanna tell you" are never explained to the audience. If you analyze the film deeply after watching it you'll realize it's a great film and its ending makes sense.

@@stephieann lol I wrote this two months ago and didn’t remember a sh t of what I typed xD I would love for that to be the case but Choo hasn’t any plans on a sequel at all it’s been more than 10 years too and pchy doesn’t even act anymore

Watching this again 10+ years later. Now that I'm older, I get the distance they've been through, the love that brought them together, and the drift that separated them once more, but it's still too heartbreaking to see how it all ended.
