Interesting to think now how they could have drones drop their experiment in, rather than having to fly a helicopter up there and sling things out. I wish we could have an update today!

This is really difficult for me to watch. Leon and I were such close friends for over two decades. He was like a father figure to me. My name is Scott May, and man what an incredible musician! A bit hard headed at times, but he knew what he wanted and usually got it. I tried to learn from Leon but we kept getting into arguments and so I got mad and sold my guitar that he got me. I really regret not having learned his style. RIP till we meet again.

“He’s as much a Mapmaker in the Canadian imagination as he is a Surveyor and a Cartographer.” Yes, that’s a quote. I’ve rarely heard such a Stupid Statement. But, do carry on. I’m sure this guy has Something worth listening to though

1) If this documentary was produced in 2005, maybe an update for 2025 is in order? 2) Feel for those who perished and those who lost everything - I experienced having endured a flood in our large home in Carmel IN, the remediation of the finished walk-out basement and backyard to prevent similar events and then the fire in the same home, whilst our home was vacant and for-sale, during a winter ice storm, whilst we were now living 800 miles away in Dallas, the frustration and sense of helplessness that I experienced, not being able to insulate my wife and kids from that event and not being able to safeguard our investment, actually had me in tears at one point - albeit not on the scale of this or other more recent disasters, I nonetheless can appreciate the shock, fear and helplessness that these events have on the lives of so many…🙏 3) Pretty documentary host and definitely someone who understands the geo, culture and topic - well done

As I watch this in 2025 I am sad to see how great this city used to be and what it has turned into. I didn't know alot of things in this video and the history is all over town. Sad that alot of these historical areas that were the setting for fond memories and should remain that way are now backdrops for homeless drug addicts to loiter around and smoke meth all day.

It’s not the volcanoes fault, it’s the lack of government willing to care about the people they are supposed to serve, unconditionally. So sorry there were still people back in the 80s that got screwed by the government due to bullshit bank mortgages that should have been covered by Reagan but wasn’t. So sad…

Something I’ve noticed with artists is they have humility. This artist is a perfect example of what I mean. Artists can be alone a lot just by the nature of what they do, painting all day alone. He had a supportive, loving marriage, which probably made a big difference.
