I love this documentary, but oh my. Every time the narrator mispronounces "Placer" it makes my head ache. I have come to accept such mispronunciations from videos from say the UK or Australia, but this is from Idaho. At least there they should know how to pronounce "Placer".

"What can we do?" How about "Be parents instead of wimps"? How about saying "no"? Shop intelligently and cook real food from scratch and don't eat too much. Eating between meals used to be frowned upon, and eating in the street was considered vulgar. Now people of all ages, not just kids, seem to be stuffing themselves with junk everywhere you look. The corporate control of the food supply isn't going to go away any time soon because the politicians are in the pockets of Big Food (if you can call their products "food"), so parents need to be proactive. If you know how to shop and cook, you can cook better and cheaper food than the junk purveyors can provide. Yes, cheaper: think root vegetables, cabbage, lentils, and beans. And if you think you don't have time, stop wasting time on social media---and get your kids to help. Cooking is an essential life skill.

??? Why would to live on the banks of a river and not have flood insurance? As a Washingtonian born and raised, I feel a little embarrassed by the apparent ignorance of the people in this video. Multiple earthquakes, previous small eruptions, and warnings of clear and present danger, and everyone was still surprised about the eruption … 🌋 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽🤷🏽

Interesting to watch a 30 year old documentary about an event from 50 years ago. Spokane has really changed. We still visit frequently, but I think the best time for a lot of places was the 90s.

Why?
@TommyLeeKenobi2 күн бұрын
@ethanwhite1147 Let me clarify that I'm not saying everyone should go to war. However, military service, for those who do it right, instills strong discipline and a sense of duty that you find almost nowhere else in this country.
@ethanwhite11472 күн бұрын
@TommyLeeKenobi Idk man, I'm currently serving in the military and I'd rather not have to rely on people who were told they had to come as opposed to joined by them selves
@TommyLeeKenobi2 күн бұрын
@@ethanwhite1147 You're already serving with people who might have joined the military for the wrong reasons, so I don't see the logic there.
@ethanwhite1147Күн бұрын
@TommyLeeKenobi there is no wrong reason to join, everyone has there why, people who got forced to join didn't have a why, come on now dude

How is SCOTUS involved in foreign diplomacy? Genuinely want to know
@itsdollhouse2 күн бұрын
Any judicial case involving a foreign government or citizen against the us government or state is handled by the Supreme Court. If a German diplomat wanted to sue the US Government over something the Supreme Court would be responsible for handling this case

I absolutely agree. Because when I was a kid I was a fussy eater and today I’m still am a fussy eater. When I was 3 up to 11 years old I was man skinny and I never ate that much because when I was little I was too scared to eat. Because I have a fear of food phobia when I look at the food I would gag or throw up or something cause I was too scared to eat. But, during my High School years I grew out of the fear of food and started liking it and then when I ate a lot I started noticing that I was getting a little bit fat for eating too much. So I decided to train again to be skinny again because some people like to bully the fat kids and make fun of them for no reason because some people do that and that’s not nice that’s when the behavior of the food changes in people little kids and more people too. About sub conscious of their weight and eating habits too. So I try my best not to eat too much food unless it’s needed. Again, I’m still a fussy eater at the age of 32 year old no joke. And most of the foods doesn’t make me feel good. Most of the foods just makes me nauseous. So I rather have juice instead because some juices are healthier and I do love juice the most. So everyone try your best with your eating habits I know it’s hard especially if you have your own kids too. 😊

I live in Australia. We have no "active" volcanos but I think one day that will change.. Apparently there is a hotspot between mainland Australia and Tasmania. I live near an old now extinct (although some people in my town think it is just dormant despite no gas emissions) called Mount Canobolas. It is beautiful and the view from the top is great!

@bloodrival27 күн бұрын
Federal Government will laugh in your face and spit on your loved ones while you stare and do nothing. *Slow Claps* You won't win. You can spout truth all day long, you're not in charge. You're not even in charge of your own home. Shut the hell up.

I, uh, think there's more to consider for a criminal case... are you going to try to put them in country jail? Because smaller groups and individuals can be tried for crimes no matter there individual status.

I lived in North Bend at the time of this blast and remember at 10 years old how the ash was everywhere for a week or two. I was unreal and the loss of life and animals was sad. It is nice to remember what happened and the people, friend we lost and hopes that it won't do it again for decades to come. They are talking about the blast from Yellowstone happening someday and that will be a very bad. I pray that it doesn't, but who knows.
