Great video! I love watching POV drives on cars I am researching, and there is definitely something therapeutic about watching POV drives with conversation mixed in. I could watch Angeles Crest especially all day. Looking to buy hopefully next Summer, and Elantra N is definitely top of my list. But now that the Integra Type S is out, that is now sitting at #1, albeit I need to justify paying at least $15k more for it. I just love the grown up but still sporty look of it. I am able to wait out initial demand, so hopefully I can play my cards right and get it at MSRP if I don't look to buy off the lot and order ahead with a down payment. Market just sucks so bad right now, I need to put up as much front as possible because I do NOT want to be paying 6% interest on payments. Ultimately, my priorities are to get my first new car that has a fun manual shifter feel, and make it last at least 10-15 years. Because no one knows what the auto industry will look like 10 years from now. At least we are in a golden age of fun manual sport sedans, so hopefully the market for them remains for some time. How do you like the feel of your Elantra N shifting? I always hear Honda remains the best, but I still want all data points on WRX and this one. I also loved at the end you caught up to that ancient Civic 🤣. That was an entertaining arc, so keep making these and I'll keep watching.

Its definitely a cool ,fun car to drive and that could be a problem cause today's young generation will drive this car for street racing . Street racing in America is a epidemic and those car industries are in rush to create an affordable cool sport car like this amazing Hyundai elentra Nline at 32k cheaper than a dodge charger , Volkswagen golf and all of them sport cars
@kcav1255 Жыл бұрын
Man, I love that you’re driving the manual. I have a Focus ST and looking at replacing it this year with the Elantra N. It’s the only FWD car that looks like it can deliver the same thrills for the price. How is the car for daily commuting? Does it beat you up at all?
@jeffglennon Жыл бұрын
Daily commuting is totally fine not the best MPG but no turbo car gets good gas mileage. The driving modes make a huge difference in terms of stiffness. The great part is that you can test drive the car from the dealership, that is not the case from other cars in the segment. Car shines in the canyons. Not another car that can go straight to track either. Good luck.

Inside the car with windows up it’s a 5 it’s not too loud and I always have the music on and can’t hear it that much. You can only hear the exhaust also if it’s in N mode.

@TheBigb1973 Жыл бұрын
Maybe you can answer this. I just bought the 23 model and when I press the right N button is says standard. When I press it again it goes into my customs. Which settings is standard using? When it's briefly displayed under the digital speedometer everything showing is maxed out but you can't see the other settings. Is it all maxed out by default?
@jeffglennon Жыл бұрын
I think if I understand you correctly, when you press n mode that is standard and default n mode you can’t change any of those setting. If you want to switch anything you need to create a custom n 1 or 2. I think that’s what you mean but standard N mode can’t be changed.
@TheBigb1973 Жыл бұрын
@Jeff Glennon I want to know what the "standard" setting is using. Because if standard settings is maxed out then I don't need to make a custom because that's how I'd set it anyways
@dead_freak_prgaming2290 Жыл бұрын
@@TheBigb1973 standard will have everything on sport+ pal I recently got the 2023 too. So N standard means your suspension is more stiff, the steering wheel feel (power steering assist) is really low so you can really feel on the wheel what your tires are doing on the road and the engine. I use the custom when I want to cruise but have all the N bells and whistles with a more comfortable suspension I just simply leave everything as is and Only change the suspension to normal for a more comfortable ride.

Just wondering. Did you have to pay over MSRP for your car? I live in the area. What dealership did you go to?
@jeffglennon Жыл бұрын
I did have to pay above msrp but I bought my car in December of 2021 which was a 2022 model year. I was the first to get one in California so I was ok paying above and the car shortage was insane back then. I bought my car from Cerritos Hyundai and now I’m 2023 I have no idea what kind of markups they are doing in CA, hope that helps.

Great video. Watching you drive through the canyon was therapeutic. I hope more opportunities pan out for you! Algorithm had your video come up as I've been devouring EN Manual drive videos as much as possible. If I do get one it won't be until 2024, so hopefully the model that year offers the same amazing drive experience the 2022 and 2023 models offer (but fingers crossed for wireless charging and some other minor amenities being offered). Overall though I appreciate the price point and hope they maintain it in the coming years for folks who care mostly about a car being all about an engaging drive experience. Subscribed to ya. Keep us updated on how things go, and how your N does as the miles add up.

Nice video! Great to see someone enjoy their car. On your Type R commentary, there’s nothing wrong with mentioning the Elantra N in the same sentence as the Type R. The Elantra N has really surprised me how fantastic they are. It’s so good that at it’s price point it gets compared to a car outside of its price point. I test drove an Elantra N, and it didn’t even feel FWD. plus I drove it fresh after driving my BRZ. Good luck with your videography career.
