I was only saying yesterday if I may, in a message in the comments section of KeyboardCrazy49's YT video "Yamaha PSR-EW425 Keyboard - 290 Accompaniment Styles Part 1/5", replying to the comment of, "When will you review the PSR-SX600?". A message I made giving the likely replacement plan of Yamaha concerning their PSR-SX range, and a bit of the PSR-EW range and PSR-E range. Worth checking out and having a read maybe. At the least y'all will find out the thoroughness of its YT host, if not known already, in his reviews of many Yamaha keyboard models and others. It could help save you all some money in your purchasing decisions. It has me. AS said in that message, (yes, it is lengthy but I do like to give folk their moneys worth, else really why bother if hardly any effort is put in to one's prose). I would in general say there is usually a trickle down of replacements, in Yamaha's case starting this year, 2024, with the Genos replacement. Yamaha wanted that one first, for the reasons I have divulged. Then of cause Yamaha will move on to replacing the 2019 PSR-SX 700 and 900 models. I bet you many PSR-SX900 owners, and even PSR-SX700 owners, not just Genos owners, have 'traded up' to a new Genos2. Had Yamaha brought out replacements for the top two PSR-SX models first, before the Genos2, some 700 and 900 owners may have only traded up to a PSR-SX710 or 910, or whatever Yamaha designates them to be. I suspect to be called PSR-SX720's and 920's, to give give them just a bit bigger increase in size of model number. Giving folks the idea in their heads they are getting something 'more' than what a PSR-SX710 and 910 model would have been. Even though it would be physically the exact same thing. All marketing tricks of cause!. Similar to why they were called PSR-SX700 and 900 in the first place, instead of say PSR-SX700 and 800. There in that case obviously not being so much of a 'gap' between the models in its model numbering. Bigger gap perceived by customers = bigger gap between the purchase price of the PSR-SX700 and the 900. Though I find not a massively big difference in functionality, certainly not justifying the quite wide difference in pricing. Of cause something in the arranger models has to be at least half the price of a Genos model to justify the Genos's whopping price. Or so Yamaha think. It is all planned out by Yamaha and other music instrument manufacturers, taking in to consideration, and of cause taking 'advantage' of the workings of the human mind. --------------------------------------------- So anyway then, we now have courtesy of Kinnor Home Studios notification that the PSR-SX700 and 900 are due for replacement. First time I have seen that on the internet. People in the music trade know these things, many currently do, but do not seem to be making it widely known. Keeping it quiet, as per instructions is it? OTHER than this YT channels host as we see, fantastic, great info to be informed about. How many decent folk all around the World will in the mean time be oblivious to the imminent replacement of these models, (this year I bet!). Then shell out hard earned money for these 2019 models, then find out they could have obtained a better model for not much more money. They could become engulfed in buyers regret and dissatisfaction, feeling that dreaded feeling for some of 'missing out', even though they would have ponied up a fair wad of cash. They might feel >>a bit cheated<< that they were not informed about the matter before hand. How many music outlets, likely knowing FULL WELL that the PSR-SX700 and 900 were soon due for replacement, BUT would go on to say NOTHING face to face with the customer. Just being glad to shift their remaining stock of PSR-SX700's and 900's. The World over they would do it, not just the USA. How would that person feel?, maybe that they in a way have been 'deceived by omission'. Feeling cheated & upset that particular music outfit was sneaky and uncaring. Caring more though about the $$$ in someone's pocket, with that person perchance deluding themselves there is something more than that in play. The romantic type who like to believe they are 'liked' all the time. Some keyboardist's though do find out the hard way. As many will in this case, you see. As I said in my KeyboardCrazy49 message, AFTER the PSR-SX700 and 900 updates, then likely it'll be 6 to 12 months and the PSR-SX600 upgrade will come to light. Yamaha beforehand hoping to get the 2020 PSR-SX600 model owners traded up to a higher $$$ bracket, the PSR-SX700 & 900 & its replacement bracket. That is what these various models are, made and slotted in to a certain price bracket, like laptop computers, made more in mind to what certain companies 'want$ out' of people. A certain industry set amount, year after year wanting a near specific set amount. Whatever people are convinced the thing is 'worth' AND what can be got away with. All likely three times what the keyboard actually cost to assemble in parts & assembly time, in fact the newer version could well cost LESS to make than the outgoing one, but folks will be actively convinced to be comfortable in PAYING MORE. Many folk do it themselves, convincing themselves they are making the right decision. The manufacturers all seem to do it so there is not much of a choice in the matter should someone want the functionality of these PSR-SX and other Yamaha models. Which to be fair, on the whole these days are not too bad. They all though just can't get away with ripping folk off the way the big boys used to do many decades ago. With the advent of the likes of Behringer, the bigger established brands have had to offer more reasonable priced products. In order to actually shift some units, survive and stay in the game. ----------------------------------- Great then Yamaha are finally getting around to replacing some of their older stock, hopefully this will out of circumstance make CASIO update many of their outdated stock. The CTX range especially, old as the hills some of them are. Then should they do that, that would be advantageous for the consumer as CASIO is Yamaha's main rivel in this area** and there would have to be genuine completion with the prices. Though who knows, there always could be some generalised 'arrangement' in place between rivel companies of the World concerning products and their prices. ** I should clarify. CASIO being Yamaha's main rivel in the lower to midrange home keyboards, (not talking about piano keyboards, though of cause in that area they are a big rivel). With these days with the Roland Go series giving Yamaha a tab bit of home keyboard rivalry as well. And various other low end sub $300 keyboard manufacturers. With the keyboard arranger section Korg and their many mid to top end arrangers being Yamaha's main rivel there. Yamaha having a strong established nish in that arranger area, though others other than Korg do have a stake, the odd Roland top end arranger the E-A7 and various brands in the low level home keyboard almost an arranger type models. Various Medeli keyboards and its numerous Chinese clones. Some are not to shabby and are vfm. ---------------------------- The thing is these established brands are NOT on our side, please folks do remember that. Best try not to let them suck you all in with their wares. We do appreciate the time and effort made in bringing out these products, that do bring fun and joy in to folks lives. But we do need to minimise customer dissatisfaction, for almost whatever reason that may be. What does help is folk personally doing their 'due diligence' in these matters, as I have just yesterday said in the comments section of 'Synth Samurai's' recent 16 min video about the Behringer UB-XA d desktop module, that will not sell as many units as is hoped. Do consider all the aspects about purchasing any instruments, Joe Blow says, get out there fast and buy one. Others wax lyrical about how great the thing is and haven't even got one. The product supplier pumps it all up with their persuasions, adverts, buttering up peer pressure online reviewers with products supplied to them, >>with NO ask for its return<<. Something the reviewer hardly ever discloses, maybe saying that it 'was' supplied, but no details as to whether they will return it. Yea, they like to keep quiet about that, THEN make out it is an 'independent' review, with no undue influence, copping for themselves free gear. No influence there then!. They are NOT on our side either!, should they do that. There are so many forces at play, long established ones all around us wanting to gain our trust, (cultivating the trust to get the ca$h). The way things are is that we mainly have to 'work it all out' for ourselves.

@Kinnor.Home.Studios Entry-level doesn't mean it should be garbage. I own an EW425. Screen are from the 90s. It's 2024. Selling terrible overpriced toy keyboards as "entry-level" is ridiculous and unacceptable in these modern times.

From your words, I observe that you are better than an entry level keyboardist, you have a good knowledge of the keyboard functions than most of the entry level keyboardists, You deserve atleast a midrange keyboard like Yamaha sx600 or sx700, I would recommend you to upgrade to a midrange keyboard instead of waiting for next Gen of entry level Yamaha. PSR E425 is good keyboard for what it offers. And incase if you think that the E425 is not enough for you, believe me that's a clear sign that it's time for you to upgrade to mid range keyboards
