I wish this group had been performing when I was in Tucson at the U of A working on my Doctorate! I also do not recall this lovely concert hall at Catalina HS either back in the early 1990's. Great music and very nice performance, though the first section seemed rather sluggish. Spectacular ending! (Your beard is very "Peter Grimes!" :-)

80 some years ago my father sang this song to my sister and I while rocking us in a wicker rocker sitting next to the wood stove. The outside temperature a possible -40 f . Brings a tear to my eyes. Thank you for a wonderful experience and fond memories.

It is a theorbo! It is a plucked string instrument of the lute family.

This is the best version of this piece I've ever seen or heard. Absolutely wonderful. I also love watching the ladies playing their violins and violas. So graceful to watch. The guys were brilliant too. Thanks for sharing on KZbin. 🙏

What I loved about this interpretation was the full voice given to the instruments. So many conductors mute the sound of the instruments in favor of the choir.
