Metro is underrated because a) it's over-priced b) it's inefficient, and c) it's poorly run. Locals know this. You left the part out where Shaw/U Street declined due to ruing in the sixties. Some of those old businesses had been closed since then. And you're obviously not a local, as you left out Ben's Chili Bowl.

I've been living in Miami since 2018. Great weather and a cool metropolitan area, but it's just entirely too expensive. Rent even for piece of sh-t little apartments is out of control. If you make less than 80K expect to live like a starving artist.

Marc train only runs certain times on weekdays. It’s not very good. It’s there but it’s almost unusable due to its limited schedule. And the busses are Maryland busses: full of crackheads. I wish public transit was better but it isn’t

The biggest lie of gentrification: “affordable housing”. 2500 a month is not affordable, just because the other units are 4000.

My guy, study a little bit of the history of the structure you are talking about. You cite Marlins Park being in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Thats the old site of the Orange Bowl, so its always been a Stadium. The area around it is in the center of Little Havana, which although residential is certainly Urban. Still a decent vid though, thanks for the presentation.

I mean…. It look like progress to me. When the rest of the country has companies running from the cities, we have all the biggest names running TO Miami… no tent cities, huge projects that bring jobs… can’t afford it? Move. Want to stay close, move to homestead and commute.

I had to check the date of this video, assuming it was about 5 years old, but no it’s more recent. Folks considering these neighborhoods should look for themselves because they have become much more unsafe and less vibrant.

Im from miami and living in nyc for 10 years, i saw the difference from when i left in 2013 to now, and i am somewhat impressed. Its safer in areas where it was dangerous, but the cost of living surpassed wages there. Like you can't really afford to live, and it's not really not must of an industry like nyc. Its more of tourists jobs that dont pay well.

Great to see some Appartment blocks getting build for low income and below marked rate appartments. About those luxury appartments. They seem ultra luxury but if many single family homes cost 700.000 and up then a 500.000 Dollar appartments isn't that expensive

I'm 53 born and raised in Miami. It used to decent but, it is horrible now. I spent my 20's in the mountains of North Carolina and moved back, unfortunately. I can't wait to leave this place, it's still will always be my home. It's a love, hate relationship. More hate than love.✌🏼

I live in Seattle and this is pretty good way of summing it up. Unfortunately I live near a light rail station (Beacon Hill). It is kind of sad how their is hardly any Single Family homes. I get calls and mail about selling my house but still refuse. Don't want to sell. Any ways I think the only neighbor he you may have forgotten was Columbia City.

The Upper Westside is the “suburbs” of NYC. It’s for families and settling down lol. BUT you’re still in NYC. So if that’s your bag, you’ll love it. I love the UWS. I love living on Broadway. I don’t have kids and I’m single tho. So it’s really for everybody.

About 8yrs ago, i inhereted enought $ to buy a (3bd/2bt) single family house w a 2 car garage (i had itturned into a studio w a full kitchen) in Richmond West, which not a desireable area based on what Miami is viewed as. But it was fully paid for. Immediately i turned it into a rental. I was living somewhere else in a relationship. When that ended i had the house & the studio for rented, so i was "homeless" for 4 months. I was looking for a 1/1, then a studio, even in the shady neighborhoods, rent is tooooooo damn high in Miami. That showed me how low i was charging. I spoke to both parties about a price hike. The lady in the studio, wasnt happy. But she was already too problematic (immediately wanted new wall colors, often paid rent late for the check to be deposited on a later date, people of the house didnt like her, i didnt like her. she told me because of the pandemic the president said not to kick people out, if they couldnt afford it...but she was a nurse, so she never stopped working). Sorry for the long story... In the end i live in the studio & rent the house. You need 2 full time jobs, a sugar momma or daddy, sell organs in the black market, on×yf*ns (which Miami is the #1 streamer of that). Living in Miami is almost as bad as attempting to remain alive in this planet...😅
