After this interview (while I appreciate open, calm and honest conversation), I understand O’Toole much better. I am thankful he is no longer the leader of the party. Our society and culture have changed dramatically. For instance, if you are on the prosecuting end of an ethics or fraud case, you eventually sadly realize that the general societal atmosphere of yesteryear no longer exists. In our day, (surprise surprise) ethics ‘have to be taught’ and generally that doesn’t happen. I believe that O’Toole is living in the past; it shows in his approach to things. He is naive.

What do you call a liberal that deflected from his own leader the fact all you Liberals have stolen billions of Canadian tax dollars, but you attack a women on line with our proof . Cowards do this , show the proof . Typical lying liberal throw shit out and see what sticks.

Such a hypocrite. This is the architect of identity politics. This is the architect of pitting one group of Canadians against others. To hear these clowns talk about progress is stomach turning and so out of touch. 23 PEOPLE a day die of safe supply drug overdoes. Children are being put on a path to sex change and these two think thats okay. Crime of all sorts is disastrous (just ask Toronto police). Immigration (nevermine you at least know you screwed that up - the only bad actor was your video trying to pass blame). The only pollution in this country to worry about is the crap in Ottawa. The real reason he is still here? Hate speech. His online harms bill that will enable a fascist regime.

Hand it to Nate, he is honest when it comes to "fix the budget." Justin doesn't understand what it means either. He is still waiting for it to balance by itself.

What do you call a Politician that steals money from Canadians and imports a working class from another country to devalue Labour while exporting all manufacturing and ruining our dollar? a Traitor, or a Canadian politician? What a Kangaroo court you ought to be ashamed.

Erin O'Toole would not have implemented the kinds of changes required to improve the country. Namely, he would not slash public servant jobs, he would not slash funding to the ultra-biased CBC, and would not prioritize growth and productivity over monetary policy whuch offers short term poltiical gains.
@toolazytochangepfpic16617 сағат бұрын
yes because those changes hurt the country. why would you be upset that a reasonable politician would not push unreasonable changes.

Thank you for hosting a candid, open discussion. I enjoyed listening to this conversation. Particularly liked hearing about the real perspective of political operatives re: their base as it explains some wackier moments with leaders.

Poilievre versus O'Toole. Notice how Erin praises Freeland and then proceeds to totally destroy her and highlight her complete incompetence. Poilivere is straightforward. Rather than create dissonance his statements are "Freeland is incompetent - here's why ..."

This is sad. The cartoon slogans speak to the destructive nature of this government. Sorry they are working so effectively, Nate - get over it. Why does it feel like one person is trying to have a serious conversation grounded in integrity and principles and the other guy is trying to score political points. Why is the Trudeau hack doing everything possible to get Erin to disparage Poilievre? O'Toole is the PM Canada doesn't deserve. He is the person the country needs given he is guided by principles. What we get is a PM that runs a country based on identity politics, emotion and fashion. Poilivere is pointing out the failures of Trudeau. If you can't own up to it stop talking. 23 people a day die of over dose thanks to safe supply and failed policy. Immigration (say no more) but the real legacy of Trudeau and his delliousional supporters is putting children on a path to a sex change. That is stomach churning garbage based on weak and false evidence.

This isn't some right wing conspiracy. You interviewed Peter Singer on your podcast and you have close ties to criminal activists such Jenny McQueen and others. You dismiss the vegan activist label yet aren't willing to actually discuss your views with anyone who disagrees with your actual philosophy.

Trudeau starts off by saying he needs to get his message across to all Canadians, and that is very true. One of the reasons Harris lost to Trump was because with the exception of one Fox News interview, she stuck to legacy media that not many people watch anymore. I think that JT should learn from that and go on outlets like Rebel News & True North; do interviews with Joe Rogan, etc. It would be brutal at points obviously, because they're categorically anti-Trudeau (even if the reasons why change like the days of the week). However if he were to do that, at least SOME people who never engage with the likes of CBC would at least have an opportunity to hear what he has to say. Whereas if he doesn't, all they'll continue to hear will be right wing talking points. Some might say, "Rebel News (& the like) would never have him on!" Of course they would! Why? Because people would watch it, and that's ultimately what they're about - views. If people were to tune in only to see Trudeau (they hope) get trounced, then so be it. They've tuned in, and there's at least some hope that a few would actually hear him. If JT's _actual_ policies were known, rather than the skewed versions that are filtered through right wing media, they would have a lot of support.

Good conversation... Want to add that I think why Trudeau was so popular in 2015 when he first ran was also because he said he would do voter reform so "every vote would count" and many Canadians thought that meant we would finally get some form of mixed-member proportional representation... But of course they wanted ranked ballot because the most centrist parties benefit from it and then he broke his promise when it because clear that wasn't going to cut it. This country desperately needs electoral reform and a party that actually believes in something. Because right now the options are fascism or parties with no real platform.

When the Federal Liberals are flirting with absolute political ruin for the next 10-15 years a la the Ontario Liberals, the last thing any voter wants to hear about is how the major ideas the potential next Liberal leader has are ESG development and wealth redistribution. It's unfathomable how tone deaf this party has become. The first thought when improving Canadian productivity shoulnd't be the increase in taxes that the government gets to take, it should be the thriving of the Canadian economy. This is the most out of touch interview I've ever listened to.
@VeritatisQ5 күн бұрын
They keep defending the policies that increase taxes as "successes" and "we're here to help (by spending your hard-earned money for you and taking credit for it)."

This is a Liberal MP's show, as he stated. It's not even neutral let alone probative. He won't appear on a "podcast" where there's any chance of him being challenged on anything. This is fake. There are no pre-approved questions and there is also an understanding that certain questions won't be asked.
