For awhile he was the drummer for the band The Outfield. Im mainley a headbanger, but i absolutely love The Outfield. Theyre my favorite band, even though 99% of me likes heavy music.

For those talking about how amateur this sounds. Have u ever heard nicko's style of solos?, He loved to solo jazzy and he was also far from complex or virtuosso. Nicko was a powerful machine and thats all Maiden needs.

It’s really bad. Taking a drummer that’s not able to play Nicko’s parts the way they are is really bad. If he plays Nicko’s parts with double kick I’ll never attend a Iron Maiden concert again

@@jpsmith8523 Because it was Nicko who did not want to play double bass drums when he joined the band. Bruce Dickinson, as he said in his biography, wanted him to play with two bass drums, but Nicko said it was not "metal." Maiden would have been better if they had a drummer who could play two bass drums. Many songs could have had cool drum patterns. Just listen to the cover of Powerslave by Testament (with Gene Hoglan) for example.

He does everything properly, to offset the rhythm and in particular ride cymbal phrasing, like Pete Cater, Michael Wertmüller, Christophe Lavenge.

@ you may not like Blaze but he’s no slouch. He sang his ass off while in Maiden, still does. His solo albums are excellent. He’s not Bruce and never tried to be.

Bonham is actually a pretty lame drummer, highly overrated. Dawson was heavily inspired by Tony Oxley, Guilhermo Franco, Michael Wertmüller and Billy Cobham.
