Good on ya mate, lightweight and compact setups are perfect for the foresters. Also, a word of advice, you'll be better off with some all terrain tyres before you get a lift and definitely look into an engine sump guard.

You have a very impressive system. You did not say if your car has a dual battery system installed in it. If you are running your fridge etc just from the lithium battery when the only means of recharging the battery is the solar panel I think 2 days is very good. Most solar panels have a solar charge controller inbuilt. The reason is because different types of 12 volt batteries have different charging voltages & the controller regulates this voltage depending on the type of battery you are using. There are 2 types of solar controllers, PWM which are apparently only about 75% efficient & MPPT controllers which are supposed to be about 98% efficient. I don't know how often you go camping but it looks like you have all bases covered as far as the power supply in your vehicle. Thank you for sharing your set up.
@localtravellertube3366Ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment and advise , No I don’t have dual battery because I run my 120ah Lithium battery separately from my main car battery, as you can see where my battery sit at the back of the car and the battery hook up directly to my 250w solar panel via controller box to the car roof 24/7, so it’s hardly run out of the power( said if there rains continuously for a week or two than my battery will last at least 2-3 days with out charging at all if I leave the fridge on 24/7) I do camping quite often at least one or twice a month but mainly I did a long road trip to other states when I have a chance or when I have a few weeks of work.
@dougrorison1211Ай бұрын
@@localtravellertube3366 I am impressed that you get so much out of your system even if you have had rainy days. I have a dual battery system in my Navara but on the last trip my fridge showed a low voltage warning after one & a half days. I bought a 100amp hour AGM battery & have put that in a Hardkorr battery box. I also bought a 350watt solar blanket which I can then use to charge the battery at camp when my engine is not running. The solar blanket came with a PWM controller but I am going to replace it with MPPT controller to get maximum power from the blanket. Happy camping to you & safe travels.

You're so right. Anything reliable with four wheels and an engine is good enough to get out there. And AWD is a great balance, I have an outback myself and it suits me perfect.

That generator I feel you brother! When I go in the swag, I ALWAYS, take ear plugs and put them in when I go to bed. No matter how quiet it is when I go in, by putting ear plugs in, you avoid getting woken up by inconsiderate neighbors and end up enjoying your camp more.

I’m looking to buy a wagon, but seems like most of wagon have very low ground clearance, which I’m very anxious bout going a little light off roading on stuff like gravel or dirt roads.
@localtravellertube33663 ай бұрын
If you’re not an extremely off road maybe just look in to AWD SUV, which mine is Subaru Forester and I took off road many time and it do it job alright ( not a serious off road tho) good on fuel economy but just if you want to sleep in the car than maybe Subaru Outback ( have longer back space )
@victoryh673 ай бұрын
@@localtravellertube3366 yeah seems like for very light off road wagons we only have two options being outback and Volvo v60 cc, I was looking at Skoda Octavia and Mazda 6 wagon but they all had pretty low ground Clearance

Hi Nice setup you need three lithium battery 100ah minimum using cable is a 1/0 AWG to run 3kva inverter. You have to double batteries if using AGM
@samhaveaguess42844 ай бұрын
God i hope you figure it all out .. Because this is a real train wreck here in this video .. Buy a battery box and lwave the battery outside of it .. And its completely the wrong type of battery for the situation.. Float charge for battery is 13.7 or 13.8 volts . Full charge and settled ( no charge or dischage ) is 12.8 to 13 volts .. 50% is around 12 volts or just over .. 11 volts is dead flat . But you never want to go there . If you must use that wrong battery you can get terminal connectors with ring terminals on it . But best option is to get a deep cycle battery . Even if you get a kings one . They are cheap as chips ..
