In physics, beat frequencies are created when out of harmony are mixed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beat_(acoustics) As it goes through the cycle sometimes the sound is pleasant to hear other times is total dissonance which the brain dislikes it (odd harmonics Vs even harmonics). This is why Indian music has no harmony due to Gamakas or sliding or pitch bending are very difficult to harmonize, unlike the Western music where they only play straight notes are easy to harmonize.

i too love the cyclical nature - when there are periods of togetherness the combined rhythms sound so familiar that i wonder if the original inspiration for complex solo ornamentation came from such patterns created by several people playing simple rhythms slightly apart?
@ManjunathBCКүн бұрын
Thank you, I also wonder the same
@donna44244 күн бұрын
I’m fascinated! Is this written as a rhythm piece, or did you create it and share it by rote only? Do the verbal sounds have meaning?
@ManjunathBC4 күн бұрын
Thank you, yes I did create this piece and it is memorised my my son and myself. No rhythmic notation as such. Maybe an Indian notation can be done

Does anyone really hates Konnakol? Such a musical interesting treasure of humanity, impossible not to deeply respect it right away when trying to grasp the understanding of more detailed and intricate rhythms. Gotta love it!

Hi Manjunath Sir, amazing Korvai! Just had one question, what is the pattern in terms of when you're converting to Thisram? We couldn't quite work out how to know which phrases are to be switched into Thisram each time?

Mind-blowing! Cant believe a child can do this... 😮 Salutations to the father-teacher :) Amazed by Skanda's dedication & hard-work, when other kids his age are enjoying life, it takes so much of focus to work to this extent, sacrificing all his free time and lazing around! This is proof that sheer hard work pays off.. You guys are such an inspiration.. Best wishes and prayers for you all to keep shining and doing your service to music.. 🙏
