What a delightful interview, Chris. I've known Katie and her work for more than 30 years and been blessed to do her School and the No Body Intensive. The questions that you asked and the answers you called forth were unique and so different from other interviews I've seen. What a blessing. Thank you <3

Isn't depression sometimes a physiological state ?... Affected by something wrong in the body, diet, or water, or environment, toxins, medications etc .. and no amount of trying to change your thoughts will affect that depression unless you find the actual cause ... ? for example, this formula cannot make any difference to someone who is in psychosis ... so its not available to everyone unless their cognition / ego is in tact. And then there is our personal destiny ... what happened to BK was a 'gift' that happens to some people ... but not many , these realisations seem to happen more easily if you actually go deeply into something, not get caught in the STORY but the FEELING .. to really BE with it, not to try and CHANGE it by asking questions ... but to actually ALLOW exactly what is coming up to be there ... and this way the transformation happens of itself ... In fact I think all BK is doing is confusing the mind to the point people let go and FEEL ... ? so to me, its much more effective to ask questions of someone like so what does that feel like, this fear, what does it feel like to feel unvalued, abandoned, fearful .. not to dismiss the fear for example or try to change it into a different thought ...and not to INDULGE or get into the whys and wherefores etc .. how does it feel in the body .. then its like the body comes up with a solution naturally without playing with peoples minds ... because the real cause of suffering seems to be to simply SIT with what is , all the FEELINGS and sensations not the thoughts or judgements around them ...What actually happened to BK was that spontaneously fell into a moment of deep presence ... there ARE no thoughts in presence .. so shouldn't the work be about simply becoming increasingly present ? THe mind just loves another 'system' that creates more thoughts ...FEELINGS COME BEFORE THOUGHTS, SENSATIONS COME BEFORE FEELINGS ... the work still gets caught up in the thoughts and stories ... and only PRESENCE can only come through when we connect to sensation ... like the cockroach crawling over her foot ... that is why things like Somatic experiencing and focusing are so powerful whereas getting caught in stories and thoughts can just get us more stuck ? > Enquiry : I have to do BK's questions in order to become free .. is this true ....? who am i when I believe this thought ...? I am STILL the person trying to improve myself ! So its still a trap surely ... but then traps make some people very rich !!!! No WONDER shes so happy !!!!!

I finally did my first skydiving jump. I was very nervous and excited before the jump, but the jump, itself, was very amazing. It really doesn't make sense to be afraid. I published a video in my channel which in detail tells about all the feelings and the process of overcoming the fear kzbin.info/www/bejne/nonFdH2YbsSEqdk

Wow, I passed this thumbnail many times and finally stopped to listen since I absolutely love Kate and The Work. I am so pleasantly surprised at such a beautiful interview. It's wonderful when an interviewer really understands the Work and can really get what it's about. I owe my peace to Katie and the 4 questions. I love that you both shared this beautiful interview. Thank you!!!!

He is the most amazing man. I’m so glad he got hit by a truck! I’m a little, freaked out, I’ve never heard the description of it.. but omg I’m grateful he figured out how to recover and then helped me and so many others. Wow. I had an unnamed back condition which caused a muscle under my left shoulder blade to spasm. You could see it pop. I had no trouble being believed or getting medicine for it, muscle relaxers and pain, but who cares? It didn’t work at all… only shots in an er worked, and only for about an hour. The pills only helped if I were willing to take more than the prescribed dose so I could sleep. Alcohol had no effect either, plus I don’t drink so, it just made me feel crappy. After years of trying to treat it a doctor offered me the Harrington rods.😂😂😂 I asked what part of my condition would he be treating, and I think he realized in that moment he shouldn’t be offering me that option because he didn’t really know what was wrong so he can’t explain how it would help. My granny had the exact same problem and a doctor in Florida put the rods in her back and they did not help her. I told him after he responded he wasn’t sure if it would help. I hope he thinks about that and refrains from offering home up if he doesn’t even know what he’s treating or how is rods could help. The idea he was willing it alter me so drastically on a maybe it will help..l something he knows he won’t be undoing… god, it’s so crazy! After a long time I finally got the spasms to go away. Not quite meditating… I thought it away… hard to explain, my thoughts were based on Joe’s discoveries, but me struggling with a lot of other things I was having trouble really doing his meditations (i can’t sit and meditate with four kids under seven, one an infant, who want all the things they want, I’m not going to explain my living conditions, but I had to take care of my grandchildren …). The way he prescribed the meditations were simply not possible, I was already very busy night and day, but I could think all day long as if I meditated about the healings and I knew it happened in an instant for the heavies, so it could happen in an instant for me. So I just kept believing it can be better instantly. It didn’t go instantly but the pain was less and less, it’s hard to explain what happened but it took a long time my way, but I’m pain free now with it occurring occasionally (once last year only, very mild in comparison to the original onset of the condition). I think the pain was heart related, stress. I have other issues I’m working on, the kids are gone, and sadly I still don’t meditate the way he says too! Dumb.. no discipline…but I’m still beer than I was knowing his work works… somehow changing how I think about illness keeps me from having colds, the flu, stuff like that..oh headaches, I had a lot of headaches all the time, those are gone, seasonal allergies are gone.., it’s weird… I bet Dr Joe would be curious about how I’m not meditating and getting well anyway..I’m telling myself I’m well all the time… and somehow it helps… I do listen to the meditations but I’m always falling asleep no matter what time of day I try them so I don’t consider it the same as how everyone seems to describe being aware the entire time… idc, I’m way better. Plus I know I’m not crazy.. there is a spirit world we interact with.
