Awesome! Amazing solo. Great playing and teaching! You nailed the tone too. Wondering if you could share some details about it. Sounds like a slap back delay or some type of roomy reverb on there? Sounds just like the recording.
@troydownwardmusic2 күн бұрын
Thanks so much! A simple slapback I think set around 90ms, some verb, as well as a little bit of room sound from the cab block on the fractal fm9. I think the amp sim I used was an ac30. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for this Troy. You have a new subscriber. Main problem I have is I've always been rubbish at playing fast runs. I can never seem to make them flow like you can. Mine sound a bit forced and disjointed somehow. Any tips? Cheers
@troydownwardmusic3 күн бұрын
Thanks Richard! Take little pieces of these licks and start incorporating them rather than the entire thing. That’s where I’d recommend starting!
@richardsmith5332 күн бұрын
Thanks I'll give that a try. 👍
@gitarrenTagКүн бұрын
I have the same problem as you - my guitar playing do not sound near good as Troy's playing. In my opinion this can bee because three reasons: 1. Someone is just not so an advanced player yet (advanced beginner). 2. The guitar is badly maintained and/or the equipment ist bad/very cheap. 3. Missing knowledge in audio engineering/recording on the computer. As amateur guitarist I will never be so good like the most professional KZbinrs.

Great video. The biggest takeaway is the importance of resolving the lick. Yes, cleanly cycling through the lick is important, but sticking the landing ties it all together!!!

First thought you are a shredder, but no there is a lot of blues and Chords/Triads/Hendrixstyle. This triad + solo lines lesson or the 11 different approaches on how to play like JH in all different areas on the fretboard. GREAT!

Wouldn't be Lick 4 (4notes) be way easier, when played on 2 strings instead of 3 strings?

You mean lick 3?? If so then yes, I demonstrate it on 3 strings as Joe plays it, then on two strings at about 2:45

The licks are definitely borrowed from Eric Johnson, but you have to give Bonamassa credit for doing what Eric and Yngwie couldn't do. That is use this soloing in great rock/blues songs. Joe is the complete package. Eric is a guitar instrumental virtuoso, not a singer/songwriter.

I usually just use it when transitioning between one note on a lower string being picked, then another note on then next highest string using my middle finger of the picking hand. Hope that helps!
