Kind of funny. I have a 68 with a utility bed. I bought it from an electrician. The entire electrical system is wire nuts. I've had the truck for 20+ years and never had an electical problem. Thank for the Video. My turn signals work but don't cancel. Never did. I think maybe ill give it a try.

Even after get radiator unbolted still a little tight on the right side, I just end up to unplug big coolant hose what it made a big difference.

just remove it altogether IMHO. You should replace coolant at the same rate as plugs anyway.

Thanks man! Easy work with the tutorial. Of course took extra care to not lose the nuts and after breathing a sigh of relief pulled the socket wrench extension out and heard the 'clunk' of the 10mm popping off and dropping into the door. Another offering to the 10mm gods. 🤣

on the fz1 it's super impractical to remove the tank and airbox just for plugs...just drain the radiator and remove it IMHO. Save your knuckles the agony.

If one of the wells the spark plug sits in is super dirty (dust/sand) where could that be coming from? I had one spark plug that was shot and it was super dirty in there but the other 3 were pristine.

I cleaned mine on the truck. I wiped out the excess. Now the truck keeps havjng problems starting. Did I foul the plugs? It starts fine then when I shut it off it won't start. Then after it sits it starts again. It runs fine after it starts.

I have a 2006 FZ1S and it stopped starting on the button. It turns over but doesn't fire and catch. I can get it going if I bump start it down a hill and then it starts when it is warm. Do you think replacing the spark plugs or cleaning them will fix it? Cheers

Your generator rotor may be going. All 04-08 R1's, 2011-2014 FZ8's and 2006-2014 FZ1's have this issue. Search FZ1 generator rotor issue and you'll find a lot of people with this issue.

@@vicpnut1 I wouldn't give yamaha $400-$600 for a new OEM one. They should have recalled the bike and should have fixed it but didn't. You are doing the right thing by replacing that hand grenade before it destroys your engine.

@@westondifranco9313 yeah it may have already been done for all I know . But I’m not taking that chance since I got it from a used bike dealer out of state … just waiting for north east (Connecticut)to warm up enough to get to it …. I gotta do it first thing , I haven’t ridden in a couple decades so I know the more I put it off the more likely I’ll keep putting it off … and anytime the temps near 50*’s I start getting the itch already lol…but , I don’t want to be stuck across state (or anywhere for that matter )& chance a total breakdown of the rotor magnets causing more internal headaches ..

So, I wanted to add a tip for removing the spark plug boots. I struggled like others and tore one. After I went and purchased replacements locally, I discovered that by inserting a 1/2" socket extension (mine was 3" long) the boot will grip the extension and allow you to turn the boot from the inside. This worked to remove the last one.
