Yeah, I've noticed that over the years. Lots of people have lost comments. Just look at the view counts. The like to view ratio is normal 10-20:1 but I have several video in the last 100 that have fewer views than likes. KZbin is so fuckity.

The first group had a player who had done KM several times so he was very interested in moving the story forward and knew that the bandits were the endgame of the first chapter. Unfortunately, they felt invincible, even after their first TPK so they didn't go in with a plan.

Boots of Elvenkind are lame. It's a holdover from earlier editions where elves were the gods of everything, like in LotR. Mine also cover both skills, hide and mover silently.

Early on in the Embers game I think he did that to a white dragon. He later looked into a harpoon for doing that to the red dragon.

The tasloi had normal masterwork shortbows. Too weak for +2 and too poor.

As noted, the panthers are immune to the poison. That why they can charge through the mushrooms. The panthers avoided the ferns though...

@@argentumtaibhsear621 yeah that did dawn on me later in the video, did they try fire to if not kill them keep them down for the count? liken piling them up and using a flask of oil

@@flemminglarsen1199 Yeah, regeneration isn't overcome by fire. That's only trolls. Many things have regen. The trick is figuring out why affects their regen. They never did but I gave them a huge clue, Azuth as a mortal couldn't kill them with magic. Fire, acid, cold, electricity, sonic and even spellfire didn't stop them.

Classic D&D gameplay. Many players assume that if an idea works, the DM won't allow it, so they think it's pointless to do all that work just to find out it won't help. Ultimately, without someone manning the walls, the barrels would never have tipped.

That is true. Wells have a limited supply, though so we would need to figure out flow rates and whatnot. Way more work than I wanted. Not to mention, the wood dries in a few hours. They had yet to learn when the attack would come, just that there was a minimum amount of time before it was possible.

@@taibhsear71 Also a day has 24 hours. so no reason for 2 to sleep at once, 8 hours sleep 16 hours guard duty would have had 2 guards at all times.

@@flemminglarsen1199 For sure, but people often struggle to sleep when they are not tired. If nothing is going on, it makes sense, but they didn't have much warning, and I don't think they were worried about much more than having a warning, so they didn't get stabbed in their sleep.

Dex is new and young, so he is learning the hard way. The other issue is that he did have it written down, just on his other character sheet. Another lesson: when you level up, add all your new stuff.

Yeah, that's part of the learning curve. Unless a fight results in death, I don't get too worried about resource management, especially in a teaching game. As he progresses, he'll need to pay closer attention. The kid gloves come off at 5th, and we go bare-knuckles at 10th. The first campaign is a struggle from beginning to end.

Yeah, you can enchant it with acid resistance which would be really smart. In 30 years of playing, I've never had a player consider that. If they want acid resistance it's so they don't take damage, not their armour.

@@argentumtaibhsear621 yeah i was thinking about the reflection shine on the bulette armor and how that would likely be lost if it was subjected to acid, wich would be sad indeed

Yeah, rake and rend have different mechanics and if you watch a lot, you'll see me mix them up all the time. Rend doesn't require a grapple check or an attack, it's just extra damage if both claws hit. Rake is a grapple made when one claw hits and then an attack with the rear claws if they grab on. Out of game it's easy to see the difference but when you are running 3 or 4 different monsters, against a high level party, there are a lot of mistakes on both sides.

Josh had one in the Embers game as his animal companion for his ranger of Malar.

At the moment, it's deep overground, and most spells can't detect it. One of their goals is to just hide it somewhere else deep underground. Once it's revealed to actually exist, there will be a much more concerted effort to find it. So far, there is no actual proof that it exists.

Yeah, they are using the barracks as a spawn point. Smallbrow's issue is money. He's saving for a super awesome bow to use as his item familiar so he's trying not to waste money on other things until he gets it. He's been saving for it since he joined the game. Sadly, yes, 500 gp is what's holding them back. it was meant as a deterrent to them running back to the wizard's tower every night but now they have the mindset of not going back until they "need" to go back. It's easy for that mindset to take hold, which is why I set it up that way. The nature of the campaign lacks urgency so I need something else to keep them pushing on... I often use timers for campaigns, "get the thingy before the other guy does" like in the Embers game where they are trying to beat the orcs to the Evy of Gruumsh but I had no way of making a 600 years old ruin seem urgent, lol.
