How to I know which direction my stitches should go.
@RondaTedder10 сағат бұрын
There really isn't any set direction, you can create interest and texture by switching it up. it's really up to you and what is most comfortable and easy.

I create round coasters but they always end up as oval-shaped. I use a hoop. Could this be the reason?

Hi Ronda, Thanks for your tutorial. You mention watching videos of someone that sounds like Laurie Brechan. I'm wondering who this is and how I may locate her videos for my own learning? I can't seem to find her on youtube. THankyou.

I just ordered a little starter set of coasters that look like orange slices and avocado's. Your video was very helpful. I wouldn't have thought about the pattern w/in the pattern or what you explained as movement. Thank you. I am going to save this video to rewatch!

I am a newbie. I would like to know more about the frame you are using. Please help!
@RondaTedder2 жыл бұрын
This is called a gripper frame, I have bought mine from Nistock Farms, you stretch your fabric over the frame, the grippers are sharp and will keep the material drum tight much better than an embroidery hoop. The tighter stretched your fabric is the easier punching goes. Hope this helps. Go to Etsy or Ebay and search for needle punch or rug hooking gripper frames. You can also visit the Nistock Farms website, they are reasonable and very well made, even made me a custom size.

Which fabric is most suit able for punch needles embroidery?
@RondaTedder3 жыл бұрын
Weavers cloth is the best fabric, although you can use any fabric if you use a woven interfacing ironed onto the fabric.

How do i secure the back

The fabric weave holds the punches, I have never used anything to secure the back. I would assume some type of fabric glue would work, I have found it necessary.

This is the best instruction video I have watched! I have had my tail thread coming from the back and turning my work constantly...very annoying! I am only on my 2nd project, but I wondered why mine doesn't look as neat as others I see...now I will be trying your technique! Your work is beautiful! Thank you for the info!

If you don't mind a suggestion, what I do on vines and leaves, is punch the vine up to the leaf, then do the leaf, then back to the vine, to the next leaf, etc. No stopping, no jumping, no cutting.
@RondaTedder3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I too would do this as well, however, there was more than one thread color used for the leaves on this project. I appreciate your input and have been enjoying your youtube channel.

Are you punching side to side? I usually punch towards myself, and turn the frame. I sometimes punch side to side in small areas, but it looks like I use more thread that way, since it's not as flat.
@RondaTedder3 жыл бұрын
Hello🙋♀️ Yes I punch side to side most of the time, I have never thought of it as using more thread. If it does, I think it would be a small difference in usage. Thank you for watching!

I appreciate what you’re saying, but it is so difficult to actually see what you are doing. There are shadows and the camera needs to get closer to your needle. I would love to see you do another video with these changes because I feel like you’re techniques are better than most. I can’t see the bevel on your needle to really understand what direction you are using. Thank you so much.

How do you tie off the ends
@RondaTedder4 жыл бұрын
They are not tied, simply cut off close to work. If your fabric has been kept tight during punching the weave of the fiber will hold them in place. If you wish, some will use a fabric glue after punching is finished. You can dilute it with water and brush it on. I have never done this and have never had any problems. Thanks for viewing my video ✂️
