Easily one of the most gorgeous voices ever heard. Yes, Talvela clearly had a massive voice but the beauty of tone eclipses the size of the instrument in my opinion. Just gorgeous, even with the ringing power and focus of tone, the sound is so warm. I'm so saddened to learn he died of a heart attack dancing at his daughters wedding.

TRANSCRIPT IS INCLUDED in description BUT SOMETIMES WORDS ARE HARD TO MAKE OUT. I have made my own transcript with another verse heard on another platform. If anyone has corrections please feel free to correct . This was my father's favorite and very meaningful to all idealistic souls. ALL MEN ARE BROTHERS Praise to joy the god descended daughter of Elysium Pray of mirth and rapture blended Goddess to thy shrine we come By thy magic is united What stay in custom parted wife All mankind are brothers plighted Where thy gentle wings abide -------------------------------------------------- Brother sing your countries and from Shout your lands on dying fame light the wondrous tale of nations with your People’s golden name tell your father’s noble story raise On high your country sign Join then in the final glory brother lift your Flag with mine In the sun of Peace New Rising hold The War clouds Close ahead (???) blend our banners oh my Brothers in the Rainbow of the World red as blood and blue as heaven Wise as age and proud as you Melt our banner Wonder woven in the one great Light of truth _____________________________________________ Build the road of peace before us Build it wide and deep and long Speed the slow and check the eager Help the weak and curb the strong None shall push aside another None shall let another fall March beside me, oh my brothers ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL

My father, born 1926, had two older sisters that sang "Old Black Joe" as a lullaby while rocking him to sleep. Consequently, he became known as "Joe". No part of his given name is any form of Joe. But it's become a family tradition, and every generation since has a "Joe" or two.

Essa melodia faz parte de um hino da igreja que frequento. Mas é estranho ver aquela cena da mulher cantando antes de cometer um crime tão bárbaro na série

A communist singing this deeply religious song with its promise of emancipation should tell you what liberation is about - and what slavery has done to the people we now call African Americans. Throughout his life, Paul has managed to instill the hope of a better world and the promise of emancipation in everyobdy who would really listen to him. He was more radical than most people understand today. I am grateful for his radicality, and sorry that the context of his message has been lost: The working man has no fatherland, working men of all countries, unite.

I heard that Paul Robeson came over to Scotland to support the striking miners in the late 1940's and he sang a lot of traditional songs. He also went down a pit to the working coal face. A great man!

I am 86 and remember this song from my childhood. Just after WW11 ended Paul Robeson came to Glasgow and my dad got 2 tickets, but my mum got ill and I had to stay with her and missed the . concert. I still remember my disappointment. He sang Loch Lomond and The Eriskay Love Lilt. He was a wonderful man .He went to the miming areas and sang for the Scots and Welsh miners.Listen to his Ode to Joy.. Rabbie would have loved it!

A black All-American at Princeton. My brother had his records across the hallway from our room. While he was away I'd listen to this album, Shropshire Lad by houseman, and the Art of the Fugue by Bach. It's all coming back.
