Very relatable, I remember back in the day my self worth was based on my WoW items(sad right) So I got this super rare item after grinding an ungodly amount of time, then my close friend got it too with complete luck and I literally abandoned him and hated him because it was what I based my worth on, it is not healthy. I was 15 at the time though.

I have played this game for thousands of hours so the vehicle controls are completely natural for me at this point but I think a lot of it boils down to counter steering. If you slide out in one direction you want to pull the car back the other direction. Also if you want to turn the car, do micro adjustments, or let go of X while turning if you wanna do sharp turns.

Either its very inconsistent or just much more difficult on ps4/5 due to the non 360 analog directional input. I managed to launch high enough on 3 occasions in an hour and a half of testing. Right now I can get to the flag setup just as fast if not faster than the top runners in their runs. Ive always struggled with proxy but mastered other movement tech like the hover glitch. After watching your jak 3 speedrunning history era videos i want to take a crack at some of these records as Im willing to try and include all of the skilled and risky strats in hopes of pushing to the top someday. Ive never really tried to speedrun but I always made it my goal to find out the fastest way from point A to point B in games I play and even as a 6 year old I found myself trying to make jak move faster like with looped rolling and just learning how to really move fast on the jetboard like perfecting the spins and low jumps for max speed. I remember tinkering with the concept of temple skip before it was discovered and was trying to think of a way to setup the trigger for the light flight mission because i figured skipping straight to act 3 and then straight to haven palace ruins would be the most optimal speedrun strat. With everything in place all that holds me back is consistent or at least 1 in 10 chance flag proxy.
