A judge throws shade, and the dancer is the arrogant one. Funny how that works. Len NEVER gives constructive criticism. If a dance is flawed, he just says it's the worst he's ever seen. That's rude and unhelpful. OF COURSE it makes the pro look bad. Maks had the right to stand up to Len. He doesn't know how to judge. He knows about dancing and how to criticize. Maks was right.

To those like Kelli, below, try to be objective. I am amazed by some of Chris Daughtry's songs and his voice in those songs. This was just not a good Chris Daughtry performance or just not a good song for his type of voice, etc. I don't know how any one could objectively say that this was an example of good/great vocals.

It plays great on my computer, itouch not so good but I just love this dance they are so talented I've never seen it performed like this. So fuzzy or not I'm just thrilled someone uploaded it.

@clmco I'm not insulting you, I'm assessing your level of experience based on your posts. Incorrect terminology, basic misunderstanding of techniques and an imperfect ear. And it's fine - we're not all experts on everything. Out of interest, what IS your musical training? I'm happy to keep teaching you; I'm patient and I AM an expert. Vibrato doesn't intrinsically affect pitch. The core and purity of the note should remain the same and the vibrato happens around it. The core here is sharp.

@montiolivetti ooooohhhhhh gawd-keep with the insults. one throws them when they don't know what they are talking about and want to sound like they do. but my final word to you is "VIBRATO".

And also lets remember, we have to look at the BIG picture here, DAUGHTRY Came off a Looooong tour then just got done in the studio with their new cd coming out! So Chris has been working on that for almost a year and singing hard in the studio last couple months, he is singing on a lil mini tour promoting the new CD. Just maybe his voice is a little tired and needs a lil rest ...hhhhmmm??

CHRIS did an AMAZING job singing this, even though he was a lil off and he did chop a couple notes , But hey....cmon now, it was still filled with tons of emotion and he actually made you want to take your hat off and feel these words.

@clmco it's not your fault, you're just not an expert at this and don't even know the right terminology, but you shouldn't pretend you know better. For a start, it's lung "capacity." Low lung capacity is the result of poor technique and bad breathing (i.e. he messed up). Your opinion is valid as to the quality, but don't argue he's singing in tune when he isn't. You probably did great in High School singing, but you don't have the level of experience of a pro singer so how can you pretend to?

@clmco you're right, nobody's going to "win" this one. But you've already proved my point by admitting he "chops" the notes. Nobody does that on purpose. He wanted to sing them longer and better, but he couldn't. To say it's an effect is an excuse made by a singer on a bad day. On the theme of sharpness, your ear's probably fine, but not brilliant. Listen to the tonality at the start and finish. It's higher at the end, he's ridden up. Come back and argue with me when YOU'RE a pro singer.

@montiolivetti one can argue the "sharp" when chris sang "glare" but i would argue it was more a chop-where the emotion, lung compacity, and nerves cut in. either way it gave this renetion character. but lets agree to disagree. you aren't going to change my opinion-and i am not going to change yours.
