Sthil had to get the MS 441 MAGNUM out of the way,or the Sthil MS 462 wouldn't make any sense, I have had my 441 for 15 years and it has cut tons of wood, still runs great,I used a 462 up against it and they cut pretty close to the same,and yes the main thing is keep them chains filed to a razors edge, dull saw dead saw eventually! Great video by the way.

Did you have to fill the oil line with oil or lube before you started it? Or just crank it over?

Just started it like normal. Oil pump will feed it pretty quickly

I change the carburetor out on mine. I didn't know how to adjust the carb. My blade was constantly spinning too. Turn the low side to the left fixed it right up. It's running like a champ! Thanks for the video! 👍🏻

These saws aren't laggy when the tuning is correct. Got my 570 new some 17 years or so ago. Every season it'll get slightly harder to start and less throttle responsive when cold after the first few years of owning it until it's just unbearable. Simple fix is to replace the diaphragms in the carburetor super cheap fix not super easy you gotta be careful with those small parts.

You probably could smoke meat with maple I don't see why not as long as it's good and dry it's just not as strong of a flavor like hickory would be or a mesquite. Hard maple would probably work better than the red maple or silver maple because they just go mostly to Ash they don't make good coals

Howdy Scott- you amaze me with your mechanical skills on anything you touch. I wish you lived closer. Our chainsaw and small engine mechanic had to give it up because of his health. Oh I don't know id have to count. With a few parts saws maybe around 40 or so. I had more but they were cheapy saws I find at sales fix back up and sell. Probably had 55-60 at that time
