Hi Abbie, I've just discovered your channel and I find it as a great source of inspiration! :) What do you think about AI and its influence on customer service? Will concierge be still needed? I know that currently AI doesn't have that personal touch and the ability to feel, understand and customize the service but it's still much cheaper than human and running such business right now sounds like a risky plan. I'd love to get your take on this! :)

8:49 If we were to find a contractor for a client, how would we charge for that? Do we add a percent to that contractor’s invoice- such as a finders fee? Or just charge an hourly rate no matter what?
@abbieallen9 ай бұрын
There are different ways but we generally add a percentage on top and just invoice that total amount to the customer.

@@abbieallen whats a reasonable percentage you add on top ? 10 percent ? thanks!

I really appreciate your channel and all the info you have given ao far. I'm in the process of starting my personal concierge business. I had a question; currently I charge hourly but it is a different hourly rate for different services what do i do about that when trying to create a package? E.g Cleaning-$45/hr but i wouldn't charge $45/hr for shopping. Thank you for any insight or advice you can give me.
@abbieallen Жыл бұрын
I think that yes, perhaps cleaning should be a different price, but in general, all our services should be charged at the same rate. Remember we are saving them time, and it all depends what price they put on their time. It is also much less confusing for you from an admin perspective if you keep things the same.

Thanks for the video. I’m wondering about how to pitch this service to people such as my guests at my bnbs ?
@abbieallen Жыл бұрын
I would be offering any services as an option extra when they book, and also in any confirmation emails you send. I would then also provide information inside the airbnbs so they know they can call on the services at any time. If you know someone is coming for a special occasion, arriving late, coming from overseas, or anything slightly unusual, I am sure they would appreciate possibly a fully stocked fridge or errand running or similar. I also know a lot of personal concierges offer gift baskets and arrival packs to airbnbs.

Oh wow. So you have said something that I didnt know. As a concierge I didnt know that you can have a list of suppliers and repair companies on your list already. almost like subcontracting? Their might be other laws or permits you need for that.

Yes, I can understand that. But keep in mind that very quickly people will get to know you by name anyway so it may be a good option. And could potentially make it even more memorable!

I just started about 2 weeks ago, I did get business cards and started networking and posted on Facebook groups. Where I live is a very touristic place and lots of people to interact with. Since posting on the groups I have a couple of clients lined up. What’s the best advice on pricing staring out? Thanks in advance!
@abbieallen Жыл бұрын
Well done Karen! The easiest place to start with pricing is to look at what local cleaning companies are charging and aim to charge higher than this. But to be more accurate, you need to work out what your personal profit goals are, work out what all your expenses may be, and then work backwards to calculate the minimum amount you need to work and therefore charge to achieve your goals.
@joannataylor7777 Жыл бұрын
Hey! How much do you charge hourly?
@abbieallen Жыл бұрын
Hi Joanna, it varies and really depends on the business and the location you operate. As a starting point, I recommend researching the hourly rate of local cleaners and then ensuring you at least charge more. Inside the Concierge Secret Society Membership I have a pricing training which helps you set the minimum hourly rate you need to charge for your own personal goals.

Hi Abbie! How do your clients pay for their items (i.g. dry cleaning cost, grocery cost, flower pick up etc.) I know that they can call and pay for this ahead of time and then just have you to pick it up, however, what if they do not pre pay and you have to pay for the item(s) upon arrival? What is thee best way to set up a payment arrangement so that you never have to pay for your client's items out of your own pocket?
@abbieallen Жыл бұрын
Hi Neicka! Our clients transfer money into our account and keep dollars in credit for client purchases. For larger purchases we get them to pay ahead or have the store/service ring the client to pay over the phone.
