This is right before he went into rehab. The 1/4 ounce of cocaine and quart of crown royal were definitely taking a tole. Sounds pretty drunk in this video

Shitty mix. that's what happens when a video guy mixes sound...can't hear the congas...that mic wasn't even on...guitar level too low...Carlos had no sence of structure trading off with Robin...

1st saw Sons Of Champlain, 1969, Tamalpais High amphitheater, after school, free! Bill Bowen was Tam alumni. Always great stuff! Glad he made it bigger with Chicago. - 60+ yrs percussing, Bradly Scot

For those of you who don’t know. It is so incredibly hard to give an interview about history and influences and then just turn on the magic. Talking to an interviewer requires a part of the brain you don’t use when tucking into your guitar like Stevie did. I can sense the difficulty. It’s like blocking a channel you have open to do one or the other. Stevie did it with grace and kindness. One zone and one channel.

I was lucky enough to get to watch & listen to the last rehearsal for the Son's 3rd album. I was a friend of a friend of Bill Bowen's (drummer) younger brother. Bill Champlain wasn't happy we were there, but he didn't kick us out. Front row seats!
