I am listening to this message again, so powerful and truthful. People want anything, but the truth found in God's Holy Word! Romans 10:11-15 kjv 11. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15. And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 1 Corinthians 9:16, kjv “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” I did a search of the KJV bible and the word 'preach' is only found in the new testament (with the exception of the book of Isaiah, Nehemiah and Jonah). I am sure many people knew this, but that is just mind-blowing to me. We as Christians are here to preach the gospel (through our local preachers) or to witness to the lost souls via evangelism.

Oh, so it's an antonym when he commands the Israelites to murderer all the boys and women, but to keep the virgins and girl children for themselves in Numbers 31:17-18. It has to be. No morality would condone that. Except we see it still happening in Israel today. But then, if god is commanding it, how can it be evil?

@@carebear2883 It is interesting you say that. In your own words you affirm the truth of the gospel being proclaimed; "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." (1 Corinthians 1:18). Incredible that it's in that simple foolishness (so-called fairy tale) that you can have eternal life. Greatest news of all.

We see through a glass dimly. It’s those that say know that make me nervous. Sound doctrine is imperative. Who sets this standard. It’s the Word confirmed by Holy Spirit believed and obeyed by the individual . He ( Holy Spirit)will lead you into all truth. If you think you’re going to walk in truth by just reading the word and intellectually figuring it out that is heresy.

@@hopebaptistchurch6546 Here are 3 contradictions: Matthew 1:1 gives the genealogy of Joseph, Jesus' Father. This is the very first verse in the Christian New Testament. Then, the Bible says Mary is a virgin. One assertion could be correct, but not all. 1) Isaiah 7:14 - Predicts that a virgin will conceive and bear a son, who will be named Immanuel 2) Luke 1:27: Describes Mary as a virgin 3) Luke 1:34-38: Describes Mary as a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus As I said, I have hundreds more contradictions. It's a major chapter in my forthcoming book.

@@MH55YT Thats the best you can do? Really? Of all the potential options that may form part of your "200", you come up with one that cant even distinguish between a legal or biological parent? @@MH55YT Do any of the verses from 1 to 17 state Joseph as the biological father sir? Does the text not particularly exclude this notion by carefully stating him to be "...the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus...". Quite a distinction from the 39 "begats" that went before it. Could there be another reason why the flow of the passage did not simply continue on with "and Joseph begat Jesus"?

Many people feel the need to block contentious individuals from contacting them. Tremendous stress can be caused by individuals who are unwilling to love as Christians are called to love. Unlike the 1st Century, there are a multitude of ways people can contact you in the 21st century. If there is no evident desire to reconcile with you, then removing their ability to contact you, at least for a time, may be necessary to relieve the anxiety felt. The pastor has certainly "blocked" divisive people.

not really, because going to church does mean going into an official-looking building with a sign. i used to go to a church that a family held in their home. you can fit a lot of people in your typical house- doesn’t have to be a fancy setup where everyone has matching chairs. i’ve been to session where not everyone even had a chair; i sat on the ground. we wouldn’t need any huge buildings at all if 1 in 30-50 christians (depending on their house size) held gatherings at home

A lot of parents seem to value bringing children up to be like either themselves or who they wish they had been. They have forgotten that their's is merely a temporary and intermediary guardianship, until the day God fully takes over. If any of them come to realise this, it's generally only after they become a parent. Thank God for those who realise this earlier, and God bless those who come to such understanding.

On point! Question: Does denying the existence of God require that some god must exist in order to be denied?
@hopebaptistchurch6546
@hopebaptistchurch6546 9 ай бұрын
No. In applying the same question to the denial of the existence of anything does not require its existence to be denied. If the premise was philosophically true, it would become a nonsense. Denial of Martians does not require their existence to be denied. Hope that helps.
@Fantaseum
@Fantaseum 9 ай бұрын
@@hopebaptistchurch6546 That was my initial thinking. Yet, the understanding of a Martian as a 'being from Mars' is founded upon knowledge of both 'Mars' and 'beings', both of which are real things. So in denying the existence of Martians, does one not concede the existence of either or both 'Mars' and 'beings'? In other words, a concept is ultimately based upon something real. Denying God presumes some level of understanding of the nature of God. So in Romans 1:19-20, are we without excuse because God is evident in the world around us, or because God is even more fundamental than that? If the former, can we excuse a deaf, blind man for not seeing and hearing the evidence of God and thus rejecting Him? What about a mentally-impaired person? And if the latter, is an Atheist without excuse because a denial of God is an admission of the fundamentals of God, as per the original question?
@hopebaptistchurch6546
@hopebaptistchurch6546 9 ай бұрын
@@Fantaseum Care needs to be taken with semantic use of words here. When rejecting the existence of Martians, we don't presume they exists simply because we recognise separate things that do exist. The planet Mars exists, and beings elsewhere exist, but we don't conflate the words in pretext to consider the existence of something that does not exist. Else we give credibility to things like Dawkins "Flying Spaghetti Monster" simply because we know things fly, spaghetti is real and monsters are genuine descriptions of some beasts. That "all men are without excuse" is true, but that was not your original question. All people of the world will be held account to KNOW the reality of God, but the denial of the existence of God is not predicated on his existence, the two are seperate considerations. Interesting talk though, I appreciate it. God bless 😀
