Love the backpack! And Lucy took those sticky notes and they are now on her wall in her bedroom. She was so excited about them and has been writing out morning and evening routines every day since she grabbed them. That caboodles type box is something that I think I need in my life as well 🤣

Bella stole items that I didn’t even realize she did. I kept thinking as I was putting stuff away after I filmed, I’m missing things…but what?! 😆 I need the organizer caddy you got.

Hi, if a kid is in public school, do they can get credits for doing iew?
@Arleneandcompany
@Arleneandcompany 7 күн бұрын
@@angelsuniverse6021 I’m not sure, it would be up to the school. I rarely see independent work awarded credit in a traditional setting. Unless if you’re part of a hybrid school.

This just looks so incredible! Thank you for the review. This seems like it would be a great class for a co-op. Would you say that a full lesson could be completed within 1 hr with a smallish group of kids, maybe 5 or 6 or them? Also, I’m not sure if I missed it but what was the age range again? Thank you so much as always!
@Arleneandcompany

Oh for sure with a group that size, prob under an hour . Target range is k-8, but with the older learners more in a leadership role for this level.

So I was binge-watching Arlene & Company while I was cleaning and purging my schoolroom and this video came on... I had to sit down and take notes...then I started rabbit-trailing on all your resources...next thing I know I'm printing out Thistles and Biscuits art and music curriculum... (sigh)... I so love your channel!!! 🥰❤💜❤

I believe I was thinking of the Rightstart math card game book (I think). I’ve used several math game books through the years and some are suggested in the Fraction curricula. Here’s the Rightstart card game one. Pretty sure that’s what I was thinking about in the moment (I think 😂) store.rightstartmath.com/math-card-games-kit/

Never Enough - that title alone spoke to me. I can't wait to dig into it. My PD TBR stack grew significantly after this video and I love you for it! When we decided to homeschool, my profession shifted from a fisheries biologist to an educator. It only makes sense that I continue to develop that profession every year. I appreciate you sharing your PD journey with us. It's reassuring when you know someone else is walking this path with you. The Divergent Mind has also been on my TBR for a bit. Like you, I am wary of ND titles for the same reason - it is our life. I know what it looks like. At the same time, I want to read this more for me as a late-diagnosed ND person.
@Arleneandcompany
@Arleneandcompany 22 күн бұрын
It’s definitely a “for me title” I feel, but gives you some perspective when raising an ND daughter for sure . I say for me, just because I resonated with the stories so much and the connections. Never Enough has all my attention right now too. Thank you for watching 🩵

I know this video is old, but I'm looking into Oak Meadow for my 6th grader. Do you need to use the English and History together? We have a language Arts we enjoy. Is it open and go or is there a lot of planning? I tried looking more here on KZbin but you're the only one I've seen that talks a lot about Oak Meadow.
@Arleneandcompany
@Arleneandcompany 24 күн бұрын
Hi, take a look at my recent video that I’ll link below , check the timestamps for the end of year review of Oak Meadow (after the second time using it, with my youngest and comparison with both). No you do not need to do both . If you opt not to do ELA, the books used will be optional suggestions to add if you like to the history but not scheduled. ETA: it’s not open and go. Nothing from OM is. Although I have always found it easy to plan with clear outlines of what needs to be accomplished for the lesson, the day to day pace is up to you. It’s also hands on, so materials need to be gathered. Teaching 6th Grade for the Second Time| Year in Review| Raw Insights + All the Resources kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3qtaX6Cba5-sKc

Just finished Daniel Willingham's "Why don't students like school" - a bit of a clickbaity title but actually a book about how the mind learns by one of the top reading researchers, and applicable to all in their learning journeys, not just teachers teaching students, fabulous read! Haha my TBR list is already hundreds of books deep but I cannot not add some of these!! 😁 In they go 😬😮‍💨

Thanks for doing the OM flip through! Another option for those who need cursive practice but already know their letterforms, we combined it with Fix-It grammar by doing the rewrite sentence portion in cursive.

Great idea! We did drop Fix it just because it was redundant with everything else, but grabbed another simple cursive practice and hopefully she will like it better.
