I was born here in June 1956. Perhaps the reason I like jets so much.

I watched this go up at lunch time near the Wing HQ building. The sound from that far away was amazing.

Probably my favorite rocket to watch, ever. Nothing else was that LOUD. We'd watch them from building 8500, on Iceland Ave, and it'd set all of the car alarms off there. I watched one from my roof in Orcutt once and it was like an earthquake.

Great event !! I used to machine a few of the critical components of the T4 back in the early 90’s !! It was a place called ROHR INDUSTRIES !! A great place for me !! I was proud American and had the privilege to work on such a great program!! I was there 7 years on the Titan T4 and early on in the program we refurbished a few of the 34 D’s an older rocket of the 50’s just smaller than the T4 !! We were a subcontractor for a larger outfit called C. S. D. Which was a contractor for U. T. C. United technology corp!! We manufactured the insulation for the rocket segments and exit cone and extension cone , which included the Throat and insert !! What an exciting time , I’m very thankful for my opportunity to serve in that respect!!!

I went to this air show the day before, the 9th, and saw the blackbird fly for the last time. I had a roll of film developed about two years ago and one of the shots was of the blackbird passing by. Fast forward 17 years and I’m at Davis-Monthan, 2016, crewing the warthogs and I know for sure I’ve maintained 215 at least once. My squadron’s Chief, retired now, was even at this same air show working the A10, crazy how small the world can be sometimes. I’m still crewing hogs at DM and have worked three of the four A10 squadrons that have been active here. This is an awesome video!
Amazing......I personally use to hear these enormous aircrafts back in late 80s living with my Grandparents ....what a sight they were ..now that was the treat ...Thank You for all whom have served and are serving our country.🇺🇸💪

What most people do not know that on the Sunday after the air show was officially over. There was a surprise. Negotiations had been made and a CF18 pilot got a ride in the Mig and a Mig pilot got a ride in a F4. I volunteered for many years at the air show. I was there.

It is great that Santa Fe 3751 still exists and was preserved to haul occasional excursion trains, this was one of the 3751 engine's earliest excursion operations from when originally restored to operation in 1991.
@thomasavensjr.2790 Жыл бұрын
Santa Fe 3751 is a handsome example of Santa Fe rr steam power, I am glad that this locomotive still exists today and occasionally operates in special heritage excursion service. Hopefully the 3751 will one day have a reunion meeting with the 2926, another Santa Fe 4-8-4 type engine that has recently been restored to operation and both the 3751 and 2926 will pose for a photoshoot together.
