I had an issue and had 3 companies check and could not find the leak. They could smell it but not find it. So basically I was given the "to bad so sad" through off. I took the matter in my own hands and got a gas detector from amazon and found the leak. All it was from was a small screw. I think they said that screw hole was used for some kind of testing. Well it was leaking around the screw. It was removed, stuff put on it and screwed back in. Problem solved.

Thank God, there is still people that have the knowledge and determination and the passion to fix these types of problems. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one out there willing to help folks out when you get told many many times that two or three other companies have been out to fix a problem and many times that problem can be fixed in an hour or less

I work in maintenance at an indoor aeroponics farm. I have to thread metal into plastic quite often. Most of the system plumbing is schedule 40 PVC. The sensors for the automation (pressure, flow, pH, conductivity, etc) are always stainless male threads. I always use a tee with oversized threads and a schedule 80 threaded bushing. I just make sure I always have spare bushings on hand. They crack overtime, but it's a quick easy fix. Takes longer to write up the work order than it takes to swap out a bad bushing.

Hilariously had a time where I was moving into a building and needed the gas turned on and the moment I approached the door to my apartment (the door to where all the lines to different apartment where was about 10 feet away from my door), I could smell it.. I told the tech that he should look for a leak while he was down there, and even though he didn't smell anything himself, he still checked and found a very small leak in another tenants line that he sealed before turning my gas on.. the smell dissipated after a couple hours and I never smelt it again while living there..

No offense but the fact she had to go through so many people was crazy, sure you can say they did what they where trained to do, but that didn’t fix the problem, and as an electrician myself, I would rather tear out every wire in a house than tell someone there isn’t a problem, I’m being paid BY them to fix their problem, so if it takes me the whole day I’m finding the damn problem, even if I think my customers is crazy, I’ll still do it as long as I’m paid, everyone has such a poor work ethic these days, it’s crazy.

It's how you land a wife too. Nice work sir. People who do this type of work, repair / and service, KNOW 100% that what they do is help people, solve a problem they have, and make their life better. It is so much more than just fixing things.

Thank you for believing her. I had a really bad smell in the car, when driving...not a gas leak..the car was undercoated(to prevent rusting) and when the undercoating got hot..it stank up the inside of the car. I was driving with the window open.

Was working for a restaurant and smelled gas by the dishwasher. My boss smoked, so of course he couldn't smell it. Got the guy with the "sniffer" in there, and sure enough, there was a leak. And of course we know it's not gas we're smelling - it's the stuff they add so we CAN smell it. Always believe them when someone says they smell gas.

I smelled gas every time o went to our apartment block at one of the other properties, I reported it and for 6 mont nothing Was a done, I’m a l does so only go once or twice a yr. I ended up writing a note nd sliding it under the door. Turned out the whole line from the meter was corroded leaking into open air in several places. The whole 20 apartments could’ve exploded and I never even got a Thankyou from the body corp. 😳

I would also sigh a sign of relief that there is a gas leak if I kept smelling gas when everyone said they can't find it. I had an electrical issue in my car. The dealer changed a part and that didn't fix it. They changed another and they tried to turn it on and return it to me and the car wouldn't start again. Another part after that it did it again in their care, stumping the crew and forcing them to check the lines to see if there was one disconnected or broken. I knew when I took it back the first time, it's not fixed. I had that thought, feeling, and doubt on the 2nd part replacement as well, I was right. I couldn't drive my car. The electricals would turn off while the engine worked, everything electrical didn't work. Windows, turn signals, A/C, dials, music, and the worst part, the fan in the engine to cool the engine. I drove home after work once and the headlights were the only thing electrical on. Everything turned off, that was scary and the dealership member helping me said that it was too dangerous to drive it and use it. Yeah, no, I'm not trying to die. What do I do for cops with a car that can't indicate turns or braking, can't roll the windows down and the A/C would be inoperable? All I could do would be waving my hands, arms, and hope everyone was paying attention

Some years ago I came home from work and while going to the street to grab the trash can I smelled gas ⛽️. My partner didn’t. We went to basement and didn’t smell anything around furnace . Went but out to area in front of, still smelled gas . Called gas company. Guy came out , said said don’t smell anything. But he took his meter out and said ‘ I’ lol be damned there is a leak under ground . He looked at me and said I Know of anyone else who would have detected that leak ! Dug dirt up found the pipe the was leaking, fixed it . Told me it was so small he was surprised anyone could smell it . Left us a yard to fix but no leak . Trust the smeller !😂😂😂
