I did not know goliath grouper could get that big that could swing a boat right there if someone hooked that while they were fishing, nothing could just drag their boat to the bottom of the sea there’s a big Guayas grouper

Can someone explain why Giant Groupers are not on the menu of Sharks; Groupers do not appear to have any natural defenses
@mangasaintАй бұрын
You can see the diver removing the spines in an attempt to get the Grouper to eat the lion fish. Too bad they don’t show if they succeeded.

my granddad used to dive at this one shipwreck and he had pictures of this absolutely MASSIVE grouper that they befriended. He and his team would go down and knock on the side of the ship, wait a minute, and then she'd come out and swim around with them. They were over in Croatia in the 80s, but they managed to get her tagged so no one could kill her!! She could still be down there as they can live for over 40 years.

I have fish tanks and you learn, observing its residents, that fish are curious, and groupers are especially curious. Further, grouper are known to be one of the guardians of the reefs that they occupy. DO NOT hurt them or kill them.

So some fun information about this. Divers and scientists have been trying to teach these Groupers to find and eat the Lionfish, as they are some of the very few predators who can actually handle the Lionfish poison. Theres studies nowadays where the Groupers ARE actually picking up what people have been trying to teach them, and the study so far is turning into a success! What you are seeing here could be a case of a grouper who learned from its parents how to hunt them, and why the grouper here is thus so friendly with humans.

How are Lionfish invasive? What damage do they do to cause a disruption in the ecosystem?
@humor75065 күн бұрын
they eat native fish
@humor75065 күн бұрын
which means that other native fish wont have food sources since the lionfish outcompete them, and since basically nothing eats them they can just keep multiplying and soon the native fish population will die out because of their food sources being eaten by the lionfish
