So is an air bow only allowed during gun season?
@erictom8591Ай бұрын
I was under the impression Air bows were not allowed. Air rifles only.
@dhentges23Ай бұрын
I think you may be right. All though I called my local game warden and he couldn't say yes or no so I used it.
@erictom8591Ай бұрын
@dhentges23 The regs for airguns are almost non-existent this season. I'm sure it will be more specific next season.
@dhentges23Ай бұрын
29.001 (7) “Airgun” means a weapon originally manufactured to expel one or more metal projectiles by the expansion of compressed air.
@dhentges23Ай бұрын
My umarex air saber expells a metal projectile by means of compressed air. There is carbon also on the projectile but the broadhead and insert is most certainly metal.

Are you freaking serious??!!!! So I can use my dam fx impact to hunt?? Is there an ammo size requirement? I was hoping Wisconsin would make it ok to use an air gun because Michigan is legal to do so. If this is true that is awesome!!! I’ll read the law but if you can sum anything up about it that would be nice 👍

Why are there so many shitty hunters taking terrible shots in Wisconsin. Maybe just quit hunting if you get that amped up if you can not wait for a proper ethical shot. Guy is way too excited for a 3.5 yr old 10pt
@leaky37522 ай бұрын
Quit hunting because you get excited? If you don't get excited trying to take the biggest deer you have a chance at then maybe you should stop hunting slick. Not everyone handles situations as flawlessly as you do obviously. You should be patting the guy on the back for putting in the extra effort to find that deer because that's what good hunters do. Don't tell me or anyone else that you haven't hit a deer badly because you'd just be lying to save face. Happens to everyone at some point. Critics👎.
@Aziely2 ай бұрын
That score is well over 125 with 80% of the meat harvestable. Ofc you use a gun too. Stop being a bum

If you can’t take criticism, you can’t grow. Liberals don’t like criticism and look where we are as a nation. He’s going to get criticized as it was a bad shot! He recognizes his fault though and will learn from it. The is is a public forum, not hive mind. Take the good with the bad there buddy.
@leaky37522 ай бұрын
@@2cthetruth for one thing I'm not a liberal and I'm not your buddy. I'm not going to criticize someone for the same thing that happens to everyone at least once in their hunting career. There's something called constructive criticism which this is not and then there's crap that people say cuz they think they are better than the next...not in my book "buddy". We've all made bad decisions when the emotions run high but no one should tell you to quit because it happened. We learn from our mistakes...not from what we are criticized for.
@2cthetruth2 ай бұрын
Listen here pal, you mayaswell be liberal because it seems you have the hive mind brain virus. 🦠 The criticism wasn’t for you peaches, so stop acting like a dam woman and getting in everyone’s business. It does not happen to everyone pal, you assume it does, but you have no way to prove it. For as long as I have hunted, I go in with one arrow. One shot, one kill. If you aren’t certain, DONT SHOOT. You seem like the type that would go around wounding deer because you don’t know your ass from a hole in the ground. Grow up cup cake. Life is hard, get some testicular fortitude and stop virtue signaling!

Live and Learn. Like you said in other comments, always wait for the best mostly broadside shot as possible. Anything frontal is a very tough shot to be right. We've all had a fair share of not so favorable shots, congratulations on sticking with him and recovering! A beautiful Wisconsin buck!
@Aziely2 ай бұрын
Even if the shot isn’t what you wanted it to be I still wouldn’t say it’s a terrible shot. You know what you were aiming for and the amount of branches in the way can change the trajectory even an inch which does A LOT to a shot. Glad you found him. Doesn’t seem like the coyotes got him too bad should definitely still have some meat. Proud of you 💪🏻

I was defeated! At that point I was almost gonna call it quits. But I went back to his be one last time and looked at his general trajectory of travel. Then also referenced where I had already looked. Following those two guidelines I basically walked right to him, 200 yards from the bed.
