This is a great question!! You can choose to get off or stay on the ship in the ports we visited. Places like Tracey Arm Fjord had no dock so the only people that got off were those that paid for this excursion. Skagway, Juneau, etc... you can choose to stay on the ship, come off and explore the city without excursions on your own, or enjoy the excursions at each place. I know tons of people who do not do excursions and just explore the towns on their own!!

@@lindylane7 Thank you very much for the information. I 'm planning this cruise in August and after watching your video I was wondering if they only let people off the ship for the excursions. lol. oh silly me. yeah so it's the same format as of Baja cruise on the Radiance.

This is what I read on 80 Francisco street parking website: "Requests submitted more than two months in advance will not be processed"

I booked on April 12th for a cruise starting May 31 for 10 days and had no problems. So the person below with the two month quote is probably right.

I just go back to remembering my "why" for doing this channel in the first place and try to stay focused on that. Hello! I planned everything so I could walk and not worry about Taxi's or Uber. I will say it was about 1/2 mile from my hotel to parking and then about another 1/2 mile to 3/4 mile to the port. I stayed at Hotel Zephr which allowed me to walk to pier 39 the evening before and enjoy the sites and dinner. The next morning packed up and walked to the port of San Fran. sfport.com/maritime/cruise#tab-12453-pane-2 Here is the information site I used to find my parking. Then I used that location to find my hotel... all within walking distance. Have a great time and let me know if you have any more questions.... especially as it get's closer.
