The fact that Ahsoka suffered zero consequences for her disobedience, which cost a minimum of 7400 men their lives, soured her character for me eternally. She's so unbelievably irritating and it doesn't help that she never suffers any consequences. No wonder Sabine acts that way if Ahsoka trained her.

@JaylaSecura oh I have several times. And Ahsoka going to jail was definitely extremely cathartic. But the amount of suffering and death she leaves in her wake, not to mention the financial costs, is never outweighed or addressed. And it's all because she's a pretty selfish person throughout. And that attitude sticks with her all the way to the end. In the final season, Ahsoka catches a self-righteous attitude when Anakin and Obi-Wan tell her they can't come help with Mandalore because Coruscant is under attack. She acts like she doesn't know full well that if Coruscant falls the war is over, and tries to guilt trip Anakin over it. Entitled, that's what that is. She's the Karen in line at the checkout screaming that it's taking too long, and she is no less so just because she's holding a lightsaber the wrong way round.

@@thewarden1398 I wouldn't go as far as entitled, but I can definitely see the argument for it. I can imagine an in-universe explanation for her almost never facing consequences can be some political shenanigans, the Jedi Order not wanting the military to chastise her for a clear catastrophic blunder, probably wanting Jedi and Padawans to be only liable to the Jedi Council. Following that, we got Anakin that probably bailed her out a few times. I admit tho, it has been years since I gave the show a full watch so there are likely a few things I am forgetting that could undo that fanon theory of mine.

Yeah, you the audience feel that way, imagine the troopers who are serving under her ? Stupid child given command of a platoon just to get them all killed or injured during the first battle of Felucia, and what happened ? Anakin just gives her the “I told you so” stare. I bet you when “order 66” came over the net, some troopers were uncharacteristically enthusiastic about putting multiple bolts in her face. Yes, I know in season 7 she grew as a character but still loosing your brothers to some orange, arrogant xeno that at the most received a slap on the wrist for her incompetence as a commander will stay with you.

I’ve never understood why 3 Venators (which are basically carriers) brought a single fighter squadron to break a blockade. They could have had multiple other squadrons to defend the capital ships

The Doylist answer is simple: it’s easier and less expensive to only have to animate a few fighters rather then a large battle (same reason early seasons of TCW favored small squad tactics over large battles). The Watsonian answer is a little harder to discern. The Battle of Ryloth was only a few months into the war, and it’s known that during the early war the GRA and Republic Navy were woefully under supplied (hence why you see Venators, dedicated carriers, serving as brawlers for a majority of the war despite not really being designed for that). It’s possible the venators simply didn’t have the staff needed to field more squads at the time, or their squadrons were still under repair (they were pulled out of the Open Circle Fleet kind of last minute to try and break through because the republic couldn’t dedicate… well, really any resources to doing so without a risk of losing on other fronts.

Both the Arquitens and the Gozanti-class (the 4 three engine ships at the back) are republic era ships. The only differance is that the Arquitens here is the Imperial 546 retrofit so it was probably build in the early imperial age.

Never really made sense to me why Ahsoka was leading the fighter squadron when Anakin is literally the best fighter pilot in the galaxy.

Anakin was letting Ahsoka grow as a Jedi and Military Commander. It also let her grow as a character for us to eventually get attached to her, especially when it came to season 7 of the Clone Wars

LeWonderman At this point I think Anakin had enough faith that Ahsoka would listen to reason and pull it off, plus they were not aware of the enemy reinforcements so originally it was going to be easier. Gaining all these factors it’s no wonder the mission flopped; Ahsoka did ok for what Anakin knew she could handle, when the separatist admiral pulled the 180 on them and called in the other frigates that put an easy mission for Ahsoka into a clusterfuck which she botched for not listening to the retreat order which got Axe killed.

@@kadindarklord Not much better since in Legends a single Venator carries 421 fighters and in the current canon (V-Wings don't seem to show up until AFTER Order-66 was given, at least in the shows and movies, not sure about comics and novels. While Eta-2 Actis Interceptors are apparently Jedi only) it carries 92 depending on the configuration. At least that's what Wookieepedia says so take that with a grain of salt.

Normandy 101st Did not have the flag so you can ditch the 48 star arm flag for that period, and also the first aid packet was mostly worn on the suspender straps or the belt (as they also carried the regular medical kit) As for 326 AB Med Co there were only about 45-50 guys jumpqualified for Normandy of the around 200 men in the company. so about 25%. The 326th used white crosses on the side of the helmets and a variety of helmet netting styles can be seen (no net, basic net, net with a bit of scrim or some more scrim). Although the medics had the availability of the M3 knife some had the leather and some the regular scabbard. These could be attached anywhere (boot, belt, ...) and several photo's of the 326 AMC have them on the leg with a white cot strap (not a tourniquet). Also the 326th AB Med Co jumpers were provided with some specialized medic bags derived from the Marine Parachutist Medical kits that contained extra medical supplies and was buckled onto their jumpharnas below the reserve parachute rig. Many of the medics also jumped with a riggermade Plasma set carrying bag that was strapped to their ankle and contained 2 sets of plasma. So as there are another 150 guys in the 326 AB MED CO with non jumpqualification they just wore the regular wool with M41 jacked and leggings with the roughout shoes. Also their helmets had the 326 AB MED CO marking of the white crosses on the sides of the helmet. Sometimes with the extra layer of HBT's (vest and pants) on top of the wools. These other troops came in by glider (small portion) and the largest portion came in by sea on landing craft as there were not enough gliders to carry the unit into combat. Medic bags were in a variety of 4 options for use by medics treating people. (not talking dental guys) The paratroopers and medical officers carried just 1 bag with a strap the contents varied depending on their rank. paratrooper Officers carried the : Kit, Medical, Officer's while enlisted paratroopers carried the : Kit, Medical, Parachutist's For the other members of the 326 AMC they could carry the following options: Officers : Kit, Medical, Officers NCO: Kit, Medical, NCO's Enlisted men : Kit, Medical, Private's For Market Garden and further they switched to the M43 uniform. You could see the men in the Airborne type M43 with the added pockets but also many were seen with regular M43 trousers. For Holland the unit was completely transported by Glider into Son near Eindhoven and you could see the helmets with or without helmet netting.
