Fantastic interview. I was lucky enough to eat at Indigo on a Houston trip pre-COVID in May 2019. It was one of the most memorable dining experiences I've ever had. Salute to both of you.

Professor Weiss was my wine teacher at the CIA 30 years ago and I can tell you his classes were way more interesting than this interview was. I never came close to falling asleep during his classes but I actually nodded off during this thing.

Justin was a fellow musician friend of mine from Youngstown, Ohio. We were both teenagers when we met, but he was three years older than me, and was already playing local bars with his punk band, The Guttersnipes. He volunteered to help my band out in our very first recording studio experience at Peppermint Productions in Youngstown, and loaned his guitar for me to use on that first session, as his Hagstrom was much better and cooler than my Peavey T-15. I visited him once after he moved to Washington, D.C., and I followed his career as a musician, and later, as a wine aficionado. We remained connected through social media, but had not seen each other in person since he had moved to NY. Thank you for posting these interviews. It is nice to be able to hear his voice, and to remember his terrific personality in this way. I have never forgotten how kind he was to us kids when we first met, and while I am very sorry that we never had the chance to reconnect in person, I am grateful to have known him. My heart goes out to his family and friends at this difficult time.

This guy is such a massive asshole. I’ll never forget working for him. He creates a very toxic and negative atmosphere. I’m so tired of these creepy guys make it as far as him. He treats his staff like shit.

The interviewer was not prepared for the engagement with the author. [READ THE BOOK!] Patience Gray was uncompromising, particularly with ignorance. She was profoundly educated and creative, acutely outspoken, and refused to lower herself to the consumerist influences pressuring all phases of life affecting the environment, journalism, and publishing. We need to revisit Patience Gray today because she was an original voice living amongst peasant culture when it existed, learning deeply from the culture, and she watched its demise.
