I nearly walked out of this film. I just felt bored the entire time.

So this movie was not horrible but it irritated me as well. He is a traumatized man who was overlooked by society and betrayed by his mother. He lives in a fantasy world... thus the random musical song.. The musical segments of the film were like fillers. They did not do the original movie justice and could have been so much more.. I wish he had some redemption in this movie for all his injustices but they continue to make him a victim...Joker should have risen and unleashed his fury on the city of Gotham

As a Saint Seiya fan.. watching the movie hurt me. It was an insult to the original series or the manga. Having fights with guns throughout the entire movie was bad. Guns shouldn't be a problem for a Saint wearing a bronze cloth. It doesn't adapt anything from the story other than maybe Seiya training with Marin which was one of the few things I liked and felt was similar enough to the anime. The bronze cloths of Pegasus and Phoenix look incredibly bulky, in comparison to the anime which are very light especially the Pegasus one except for maybe the helmet but it doesn't look good either. The story is more along the lines of some rich old dude goes to Greece to see the archeology and finds a wounded Golden Saint holding a baby. Before dying he tells that old man (Kido) that she is the reincarnation of Athena and explains that she will awaken her cosmos (power, just imagine it like Ki from Dragon Ball) when she is older and should prepare herself when the time comes to fight the next holy War against Hades. Then Kido has A BUNCH of kids with different women (around 100 maybe, no one knows exactly how many) and he abandons them in orphanages. When they're around 8 they are all sent to different places around the world to train to be able to claim the bronze cloths that are in those places, becoming officially bronze saints of Athena. Once they're all back to Japan the old man was already dead and the mc Seiya just wanted to look for his sister bc they were separated against their will when he was sent to Greece to train and claim the Pegasus bronze cloth so he accepts to participate in some kind of tournament that Saori (Athena's reincarnation that Kido took in as his granddaughter) organized to win a golden armour and to find the best qualified saints for some reason she doesn't understand as she was never told by her "grandfather" that she is Athena. A lot of things happen in the midst of that and they end up figuring out that Saori is Athena bc of the cosmos she awakens now that she's a teenager. She's supposed to command all saints under the name of Athena in a Sanctuary located in Greece bu they have a Patriarch that is corrupted and took control of it, who also tried to kill Saori when she was a baby and the Golden Saint Kido found years ago in Greece protected her. Now the main cast of bronze saints including mc Seiya have to fight against the Sanctuary's Silver and Golden Saints to make them understand Saori is the real reincarnation of Athena, as they don't believe that bc the Patriarch claims Athena has been in the Sanctuary all along even though no one has seen her other than the Patriarch (a lie) and that's more or less the first important arc of the story goes. Of course they end up fighting against other Greek gods but that comes after. If you want to see that first arc I'd recommend watching the Knights of the Zodiac 3D movie that came out around 2014 which is not exactly the same as in the anime but it's good enough just to get a feeling of what the story is about. The original anime has a lot of filler in the beginning before the important arc of fighting against the sanctuary and some people might find that too boring so I recommend watching the 3D movie or just watch The Lost Canvas, which is a story that follows a precious reincarnation of Athena from the 18th Century. It doesn't have filler as it has one season with much better animation and only around 26 episodes. Of course it doesn't have the same characters and it's not even canon, but I highly recommend it for people who haven't watched the original anime and want to see if they'd be into it. If you like The Lost Canvas then go ahead and watch the original anime.

I understand the appeal this movie has, and I am definitely in the minority, but for me it didn’t click. The witty, wacky humour I enjoyed in the original seemed to be replaced by gross-out gags and shock humour. I also found the story incredibly overstuffed, underdeveloped and boring. Michael Keaton was awesome, the cast was great, and I loved the effects and set designs. As a whole though, I was disappointed. Great review!

The only problem I had with the movie was the typical feminist "hot guy who murders people good / short nerdy guy who grab boob bad" messaging thats so obvious, tired and boring coming from Diablo Cody. In fact I completely disagree that Zelda Williams was the problem, I thought the directing was great, pretty much every problem comes from the screenplay itself where a lot of the plot or motivation seems too unexplained. Also his name is Cole Sprouse not Cody Sprouse.

I’m literally watching this movie right now hahaha! I had to fast forward through so many scenes because they were just unbearable to watch or they just dragged out way too long. And I really cannot stand the goofy zombie trope it’s really not funny and I wish that movies would stop using it.

Me and my wife were just talking about seeing if there was a decent movie worth going to the theaters for and saw Twisters on the app and wondered how long before you would review it. Turns out, you already did! I’m sold and we’ll most likely be going to see this in the next week or two. Thanks!

I had never seen the original 1996 Twister until a couple of nights ago, and I thought it was a solid enough watch. Wasn't really excited about this new entry, but I think it provided a similar level of entertainment. I didn't really care about anyone outside of Glen Powell's character and the tornado sequences weren't as intense as I was hoping, but the visual effects were fantastic. Great review, Tony!

Thanks so much! I rewatched the OG too, and it definitely feels dated. It's wild to see how movie-making and story-telling has evolved in the past 30 years...even for a pretty simple franchise like this.

Great movie but it will never top Home Alone 1 and 2 and many other christmas movies that came before it. Fun fact about Elf: James Caans grumpiness, annoyance, and bitterness towards Will was not acting...Caan was really being like that because he really couldn't stand him.

I haven't watched the other first two films of the Quiet Place franchise. But like you said Day One did not make me regret not watching them it really is a stand alone film. Lupita does her thing and Quinn was also up to the task, there was definitely good chemistry between the two of them and it did not feel over the top or awkward at all, it felt natural. Overall it is good quality and a very touching film. I hope it gets some sort of recognition at the Oscars.

So I guess you didn’t realize kids made this movie back in the 90’s to discuss the citywide human testing and being forcibly substanced and exposed to m*rder & how the schools and city kept it all quiet as kid after kid di*d then? Some of this stuff really happened albeit it we centered it around a fake storyline about a creature… we did it to hopefully get justice and get the de*ths of kids to stop. And more have di*d since… lots! I lost several friends so did a review discussing why we chose certain songs and movies. For example, Kokamo was to protest the m0b rule over the city that was behind what was occuring to kids. Parents enrolled their kids temporarily in school without pictures (hence the not pictured joke) & sometimes disappeared. You might understand this movie better if you check review out. Unless it gets a lot of atten quick more might di* & idk how long I have cuz I got kidnapped across state lines. I was a victim of what happened too as was a whole city of kids. So we’re hoping for justice and reparations but likely the magical bureau where a kid got k’d in front of & they still didn’t wanna solve it, won’t want to stop these kids (now grown) from continuing to di* after they got horribly tested on. Cus they knew it seems now in hindsight. They allowed it to continue across a whole city for decades. The whole city, Mayor, schools, all kept it quiet so I hope more who’ve seen this movie will check my review out and help get more atten to it cus it won’t be till enough scream out that there’s any acknowledgement or any reparations for what these brilliant kids suffered.

As much as I liked the music and sound in Furiosa, I wish there was just a little more rock/metal music in it because that was one of the things that set Fury Road apart from all the other Mad Max movies. I enjoyed it! Just wish I would have seen it at the drive-in instead :)
