Why would anyone ever want to leave a tropical paradise filled with French tomboys? There's no mystery here.

Who knew living in comfort in a proverbial paradise destination, would stifle ambition.
@seychellesatheart11 күн бұрын
It goes even deeper than that in so many ways. But definitely a combination of the history of the people and the comfort in life now.

@@seychellesatheart I'd take a guess that, on a physiological level, the year round, near perfect temperature would lower metabolism and energy expenditure of homeostasis, less calories required, less physical exertion to acquire said calories. combine that with modern industrialization and diets and the obesity rate goes up, and we know heavy people aren't very active they say the same about Hawaii... 'Island time' I'd be more concerned about the mosquitos than anything else. And I bet ambition, along with general mental and physical health would skyrocket with a clean unprocessed diet.

Don't ask, do. There's always going to be someone who tries to dissuade you, but young Seychellois need to make their own opportunities or go somewhere they will be appreciated.

It's an absolutely gorgeous archipelago off the eastern coast of Africa. The Seychelles. The population is relatively small - around 50K I believe. Being an archipelago, with a small population, I can see it being difficult on young people who were born there due to a small economy and population. That said, it's also the kind of place where you could spend your life being a scuba instructor diving reefs.

There's really no excuse not to serve the environment dutifully when undertaking large resort builds, particularly on the beach. We have the technical data, the technology, and the awareness of outcomes to inform and enable developers and the state to do the right thing, yet so often, the right thing isn't done. Seeing nature being disregarded and even actively destroyed for a profit margin is infuriating.

Australia has been doing this for years, well documented steps, the resorts/tourists welcome this type of process, if they know whats envolved they can accommodate it into the Contruction. and running of the resort. , know where they stand from planning to open, no grey areas, They all want to live side by side with the turtles, and they respect you more for the rules laid out,

I say drill baby drill. By tapping into oil reserves, the country can significantly boost its economy through job creation, increased foreign investment, and enhanced infrastructure. This new revenue stream enables the government to invest in other sectors, promoting diversification and reducing long-term economic dependence on a single industry. In essence, oil production can be a catalyst for broad economic development and stability.

In France, you don’t get methadone if you test positive for heroine on an urine test (weekly at first then monthly, depending on the outpatient center you go to). Nobody wants to pay for an extra hit for you in the day, its not the point of the program. You have to want to get better, to be in the program

I like the example of the kid at STC. I've seen so many parents fail at that "test" and the consequences in Gen Z is so vivid. Perhaps some more education on reversing the effects of such exposure from childhood? Since we can't teach all parents, perhaps we can arm individuals to rewire their brain?

What a shit show. Literally. Shocking that the 5-star hotels are given carte blanche to destroy this beautiful island and the powers that be are behind this wreckage. Greed is a terrible thing. Thanks for bringing this to our attention - Guy is truly a man of integrity.

They didn´t destroy a piece of the forest but the break down an existing hotel resort. The Banyan Tree Seychelles was such a nice and beautifil resort. Maybe a little used and it was time for a renovation but it was far away from run down. Very sad is they broke down the main building of the resort. This house was much older than the resort. Before the resort was build it was the house of goerg harrison (The Beatles) and the actor peter seller. The were friends and build this beautifil white wooden vila in the late 60s. Now all this is gone and on the satelite images you can see put 3-4 times more buildings on this piece of land. Looks totally packed now. This is the real greed so they can put 3 times more people on the same area. The Anse Intendance beach was on of the most beautiful beaches in the world and maybe you have seen the beach in a few commericals over the years. Nobody knows what this beach looks like now.

The process of deep-sea mining is brutal and indiscriminate. Entire habitats and communities on the ocean floor, which have have taken eons to evolve, and which will definitely contain species still unknown to science, could be completely eradicated in a matter of hours.
@seychellesatheart8 ай бұрын
Hi Jane, you are absolutely correct. Seychelles has not stated it is starting this process, but the fact that the general public doesn't know that this is something they are considering is definitely worth sharing. We have to be informed in order to change this destructive ways.
