¡Excelente pregunta! Con la placa de cobre, creo que se trata principalmente de la muñeca y los dedos para la mayoría de las letras. Para florecer, es levantar el brazo del molde y dejar que el brazo completo se mueva con fluidez. ¡Saludos desde Nuevo Hampshire!

Can you imagine that we learned and it was mandatory calligraphy in grade 3 way back in the 70's when schooling actually meant something? Yah, now we have movies and pajama day on Friday's. No wonder the western society is in a bad shape. ...sorry I had to edit it. Now kids are playing the challenge if they can wright they're name without lifting up the pen off the paper. 😅😂🤣

Hmm? I'm not sure. I wonder if they may too harsh and reduce the life of the nib. Options that I know of (fire, saliva & potatoes) to remove the nib film are not always practical. Please share what your results are if you do try them. Happy lettering!

Thank you! Great to hear it's helpful. I have links in the description above to my copperplate workbook. There's little instructional text in the workbook. It's mainly practice sheets to letter over light grey lettering to help get the strokes in one's muscle memory.

Gracias por su pregunta. Kaweco es un bolígrafo de borde ancho, que se usa para estilos de caligrafía como Italic, Uncial, Carolingian, Black Letter and Foundational. Para Copperplate caligrafía necesitarás un 'pointed pen nib' (la marca que use en este video es Nikko G). Mi lista de artículos de arte está en el cuadro de descripción de arriba. ¡Suerte con todo!

Oblique pen holders are typically used for copperplate calligraphy. Some left-handed calligraphers will use a straight pen holder. Pointed pen nibs like Hunt 101 or Nikko G are used for copperplate. You can find many calligraphy tools at Paper and Ink Arts and John Neal Booksellers but links in the description area of this video (click 'show more'). Good luck!

I absolutely loved this video, thank you. Mesmerising and spellbinding, you seemed to make the words you were saying follow the strokes you were writing. I wanted to thank you for recommending the Nikko G nib. I purchased them, and it has made the biggest difference! Now, if only I could find a local printer that knows anything about paper! If you have a website where I could find more information, I would appreciate it.

Do you offer classes? I have watched many calligraphy tutorials, and I learned more from your two part videos on majuscules and minuscules than I have the past year. I even purchased Paul Antonio’s book, and it’s a little too complicated for me. I need simple and that’s how you teach. Thank you for sharing your beautiful talent!
