Both don't work for my dog what so ever . If the neighbor's dog runs to the fence it's on. Till i go get him and get bit by grabbing him.

I have been training dogs since 1969. I know how to PROPERLY use tools. I have 9 rescue dogs in my pack all have been e-collar trained. Excellent session on e-collars. These are the same things I teach owners.

Nice shock collar, didn't do much on 10 so I modified it and now Buddy is just ignoring it. Needs update 6/10 better torture collars available.

Punishment vs just stimulation. A shock collar is used to punish through discomfort just to get a bad behavior to stop and an e collar is used to give the dog a feeling similar to a tap to get its attention so that you can tell it to do something (and redirect its energy from the unwanted behavior).

Any good school course usually has an introduction/orientation meeting. That’s what this seems like to me. You can’t just use an ecollar and the dog will now listen to you. The e collar is a tool and the dog usually has to go through something like a 16 week course of weekly 1 hour classes in order to learn the training.

What if you have 65 lb Bull Terrier that is growling and showing his teeth when you attempt to load up in the back seat of a truck? Easy to get a Golden in the back of an SUV. Different ball game with a dog that exhibits fear/frustration aggression.

So basically it's a shock collar. Please people, stop shocking dogs because a trainer tells you it's OK. Use your common sense. You wouldn't shock your kids. I've had all sorts of dogs with all sorts of issues, all of which have been resolved with firm but fair consistent training, madness 😠

"Positive reinforcement on negative behaviors" you are an incredible trainer. The lessons from this video are applicable unto human relationships. The dog was very smart, unknowingly it was the owner who caused and bred the dogs unfavorable behavior. Excellent video. I will be sharing on my Twitter. Salam

My problem is my dog can’t jump any longer as he’s a 13 year old lab with week hind legs. He’s about 100# & I can’t lift him alone. He gets skiddish with any kind of step. I will be moving soon and getting him in and out of my car for the travel will be a challenge.

Make sure you get your Lab to walk on the ramp flat on the ground first. Take it slowly weeks NOT hours or days (15 minutes daily for about 2 weeks for each stage.

Yes! I love that he has the owners try it! And now I know how to try it myself. Don’t want to put it on my little whippet without knowing what she is feeling. But her running into the city street is far more dangerous than a little zap. I’m glad you said that about the tens machine because I have used that before.

But you are not a dog. It might feel different to your dog. You know what's happening and when it will happen. Your dog doesn't. Would your dog not run into a street if someone tapped it on the shoulder? That shock collar only works because the dog really, really wants to avoid the feeling. Science shows aversive training has negative side effects on the dog down the road. Positive training takes more time, effort and knowledge but it can achieve the same results
