Wow, so glad my great grandparents bungalow at 6 Second Street survived. We came down from Philly in the following summer. The house is long ago torn down and replaced by a minor monstrosity as was the compound that contained our traditional summer rental at 225 Bay Ave. We stayed on the first of three floors. For many years, the third floor was unsafe due to the storm. It was finally fixed and rented out. Now two apartment buildings sit sideways facing each other. Terrible! We so enjoyed the unobstructed view of the mainland through the cove next to the marina across the street. We used to follow the red light of the Cape May County Rescue Squad ambulance across the 9th Street double drawbridges to Shore Memorial Hospital, where I got my first stitches.

I loved her no matter what I saw her in. I believe she was one of many who were ruined by being blacklisted. It happened to her at a later date than many who were blacklisted by Senator McCarthy who was on a witch hunt for Communists lurking around every corner. The U.S. has done some terrible things to people. That being said Eartha Kitt was my favorite cat woman. I loved the way she purred.
