They discontinued the mini in the US. Pisses me off. Been running Bluetooth on my ct36 since it came out. Was finally about to replace my 12 year old CT Mini just for the Bluetooth.

CXS 18 should just be the CXS 12 but with an 18v battery. Not supposed to replace the C18. Surprised to see they’re the same size. Bonkers they didn’t bring the txs12 here but the 18v is definitely smaller than the T18.

Systainer attic lids have always been awesome. The oldest bit caddies were lame (don’t know if they made it to here in America). The tloc era ones were great. I was taken aback by these new ones, but they’re great in their own way too. They have a couple of other inserts for the newest attic lids. I’ve got an sds plus one. Pretty nice. You won’t be surprised that the driver bits are Wera (and yet the centrotec handle was wiha for a long time). I was always told that their circular saw blades, drills, and router bits are one stop shopped from Leitz. Maybe that changed for some things. They stopped using Zobo for forstners and those, I believe are Fisch now. Jigsaw and Recip….wilpu?

@toolsobsession8898 күн бұрын
Fein all day long. Why because it still a family owned business they make everything in house Germany the motor is sealed so not dust or metal shavings will get inside it’s more robust. And the final nail in the coffin is that Festool goes to Fein to make drills among other things for them.

@@toolsobsession889What a bunch of bs. The previous fein ascm from 15 years ago was more powerful than the PDC. Likewise, this new ascm eats the tpc’s lunch. The PDC was at least a nice useful drill for its time. The TPC is whack. Simple answer. Previously half of Fein’s cordless line was white labeled from a Chinese manufacturer (forgot name). With amp-share, less from that manufacturer and way more white labeled Bosch products. Those different chucks are going to show up with COO from various parts of the world. The chop saws are just white labeled from Asia. I don’t remember if the mag drills are white labeled, private labeled, or self manufactured. Most of their grinder lineup is Bosch now. Festool is just as family owned and operated. Festool outsources way less of their tool lineup. Vecturo has always been a Supercut. Cordless grinders are also Fein. They JUST started buying a recip saw and rotary hammer from Chervon (Flex models). Stopped making their own lights on new products and are obviously buying from same sources as Hikoki/Metabo. Outside of that, lots of tools came onboard via acquisitions (holz-herr, narex, protool, dust extractors, plastics). Fein doesn’t make Festool drills (patently obvious). Never did and would take offense at the suggestion. They’re sharing an auxiliary handle.

I have a 1615 have had for 8 years. Everytime I travel in Canada as a Leo it brings all my duty and clothing in one. Also just bought a 1595 for personal luggage while traveling. Have had lots of friends have luggage failures, zipper breaks, or just damaged during handling and they paid a couple hundred $200-$300 CDN. So for a bit more and get the warranty and peace of mind it’s so worth it

This is quite a drill - but what is the retail in the US going to be. I shudder to think. Luckily I am a Bosch guy so I am already on the AmpShare platform.

Probably around $700 mark because here in Canada is around $1000

The drill driver is around $349 and the hammer drills are about thirty bucks more. The all in kit for hammer drill is a grand. They don’t offer the drill driver kits here.
