Thank you, great video. I was trying to identify the type of bermudagrass grass I have in central Alabama, because I am getting ready to start applying PGR to my grass. I will be using PrimoMaxx, at half the recommended rate. But there are over 7 types, and the rates vary. When I built this house, the grass was sod. Can you help me?
@CenturyOutdoorServices
@CenturyOutdoorServices 4 ай бұрын
Start with half the rate and see how it responds. I would not worry about which cultivar of Bermuda you have. You can work the rate of Primo up to your desired control or apply a lower rate more often. If you are able, test a 1,000 ft2 area and see how the Bermuda responds compared to untreated areas.

With shaded areas on a bermuda grass lawn, what ideas work to fill in patches?
@CenturyOutdoorServices
@CenturyOutdoorServices 9 ай бұрын
Normally the two options are to thin the trees if that is what is causing the shade or create a mulch bed in that area. If you have enough sunlight, you could look at a different variety of turf. It all depends on how many hours of light hits that area.

@CenturyOutdoorServices

I would say they are equal in most situations. Core aeration will always be best in heavy compacted areas, but it sure is nice not punching holes in irrigation and internet cable lines.

im confused my station valve #4 wire is cut somewhere between the controller and the valve. i tested the valve with a hand held remote start and the valve works perfectly. the wire is broken between the cotroller and valve. That wire that is cut i do not use in any of the hook up correct i just fold it up and put it to the side. Now ive got valve #3 like 10 ft away am i going to use that valve as my main valve to hook up the add a zone to by sending a wire from #3 to #4 where the broken wire is and do i hook up all the commons together theres only 1 common in each box and theres 3 commons on the add a zone. Sorry but im confused about the controller also i have 1 open slot and thats # 12 do i hook up to that one for the open one bcase you said not to put them close together
@CenturyOutdoorServices
@CenturyOutdoorServices Жыл бұрын
I will try and answer this for you. Yes on the #12 slot to hook up in the controller. At the #3 valve, you want to take the common that is coming from the controller and connect it to the Add a Zone along with the #3 station wire. Then run from the first output of the Add a Zone to #3 valve. You will want to run the station wire and common to the valve. Repeat this for the #4 valve on the 2nd output of the Add a Zone. If the common wire at valve #4 has not been cut, then you can just run the station valve from the Add a Zone to #4 valve and just leave the common hooked up to the valve. It is okay to not hook anything up to the common wire on the output wire on the Add a Zone. I don't know it I made any sense, but I hope it helps.

I was losing my mind trying to service a new old system account recently. Zones 13 and 15 weren’t working and looked to be in the same area of the property…. Saw these wires inside the controller, and never saw an add-a-zone before-didn’t know what the heck was going on. Circuits test good from controller…. I guess the device has gone bad? Now I just have to find the valve box if they even used one at this place……

I picked the wrong profession if people are actually paying for this scam. Nothing replaces hollow core aeration. Period. Dawn, baby shampoo, etc. would be just as good. Core aerate. Overseed. Fertilize. Apply post/pre-emergent. Done.

I rented that EcoLawn spreader a few years back. I'd REALLY love to have that, but it costs over $7k. At the time when I rented it, it was $6k and I thought that was way too much. There's a pull behind version for $3,500. I wish they'd sell it for $1,500. I'd buy it tomorrow.

cows eat everything, alot of weeds and their seeds. make sure any manure used for your top dressing has sat 3+ years #1 to lower the PH so the lawn doesn't burn from the high fertilizer dose it is receiving from the cow manuer and # also very important the weed seeds have died as many of thew weeds are bi annual meaning 2 year life span sometimes 3 if they were produced in the fall before ingestion.

What post and pre- emergents are you using on Bermuda grass?
@CenturyOutdoorServices
@CenturyOutdoorServices Жыл бұрын
We use Specticle and Barricade for the core of our Pre-emerge, but will rotate with other products to help with resistance. For post, we use a large number of products depending on target weed and time of year. Monument, Speedzone, Celsius, Tribute Total, Solitare, Q4. That is not the full list, but ones we use the most.
