It's very simple question. There will be 4 sets of solution. Ans are 1, -1, 2 & 2/3. You made the solution very complicated. Delete your video. Learn the concept again.

Sir, We can do in a simple manner We have learned in 8th class that two sides of triangles are always greater than third side so by putting the value 7 / 4 in the place of r. We can find, By putting r=7/4 We get the sides 5, 8.75 , 15.3125 And this doesn't satisfy the above conditions that's why 7 / 4 will be correct answer. Sir please explain in a simple manner

Easy question hai under 10 sec wala The thing which should be noted is that the root of the equation is imaginary so both the equation are equal hence sum of the coefficients of the 1st equation is answer.

Nice approach! I also thought of the same that for the roots to be rational, the Discriminant must be a perfect square. Simple enough!
