For the most part (Between -20C and 50C or -4F and 122F), converting fahrenheit to celsius using this method, you are only 1 to 4 Degrees off the correct Celsius temperture (equivalent to about 2 to 8 Degrees Fahrenheit) , not really noticeable It is when you get to the extremes that is more inaccurate using this method for water boiling temperature of 100C/212F, give you a big noticeable difference of 212F as 91C or 100C as 230F after -40C (-40C = -40F, yes -40C is the same as -40F), there is a noticeable difference calculation given converts -40F to -35C,. some may say cold is cold, but as a Canadian a greater then 5 degree difference in Celsius when it is cold is noticeable lol......yes it can get into the -40's briefly (-50C/-58F with windchill) in my neck of the woods.
