The new replacement slider parts for DT770 have the new Y logo and L/R markings on the inside. They also come whith different plastic and metal pieces with a little ball for the stem - I am referring to the piece at the 6 second and 1:00 in the video. I decided to reuse the original DT770 plastic pieces - they are working and no need to remove them.

Thank you for the comment! It is a oneshot Video and one of my first ones. I am not sure what the wiper is, but I think it is the thing you just clip on the metal part of the headphone? Esse pedal serve como um booster limpo? Caso eu deixe todo o balanço no zero?
@gearforest9746 Жыл бұрын
Hey! Thank you for the comment! Sorry for my late answer. You can boost your signal with this pedal, yes. But it is not a clean boost. I suggest something like the spark mini from tc electronic for a boost on a budget. It is really good. On the other hand I like this pedal as a boost, but it will not be really like a clean boost. You are right anyway, You can boost with this pedal with balance at zero and use the EQs to colour or a little drive to het some crunch.

Very cool and extensive presentation, thanks! If you use just the boost, do the EQ-knobs still effect the sound?

@NewAeonWarlord Жыл бұрын
@@gearforest9746 I actually asked Daniel (Lichtlaerm) directly and you are right, the EQ knobs are in the "normal" distortion circuit and don't effect the boost itself.

I believe that you have a great "clean" tone, and its drive interacts a lot with the pedal. The experience with a really clean amp will be so different (very harsh).
@gearforest97462 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment! The signal chain is at the beginning of the video. It was: bass into the bod400 into my interface and into the ampsim in studio one. You can hear the clean tone at the beginning for comparison. I think that this pedal is a Clone of the Boss odb3, but I am not sure. The odb3 has a very harsh distortion. I use a pedal like this mainly to boost the signal and use not that much drive. There are better pedals for heavy distorted bass, but this one is a good starting point.

Funny way to test this thing. It s meant to Overdrive a Tube channel. And so there is complex interaction between the pedal and the tube saturated channel. Thtas completely absent. So the pedal sounds shit. I have a 4 channel Mesa. The sd-1 sounds worst on the clean channel, unless close to high gain sag and power amp saturation. Then it starts to deliver and shine. On the other channels - crunch, blues and burn - it truly shines from the get go. Because there is this tube saturation to interact with. Pls test it in the context it s meant for.

I got the impression this wasn't a very high gain pedal from other Demos - looks like they were wrong? Unless your LP has unusually hot pickups. Wonder if there's a simple tweak for more gain with lower output Pups? Thinking of getting this instead of forking out for a Hizumitas, I think with some EQ it could be similar territory.
@gearforest97462 жыл бұрын
Yes, the LP has pretty hot pickups! And they are humbuckers and not single coils. I think the Hizumitas must be really great, but did not try it, yet. This pedal can become very fuzzy. I think you could boost it and will get a lot of gain out of it. It is a pretty cheap pedal, so you might just give it a try. The only downside for me is the switch that activates the pedal by releasing the foot and not by stomping on it. Hope that helps! And thx for the comment!

Hi! Thx for the comment! It works with a battery as well! There are two pins on the sides of the pedal to open the place where a 9V battery can be put. To extend the battery life it is recommended to unplug the jacks. If the Jack is plugged It will slowly run the Batterie empty.

Oh yes. It's my favorite for lead, when distortion or fuzz pedal is too much. It cuts some bass, not the best for some power chord riffs. But it's always the 1st in my chain. High gain fans might choose something different.
@gearforest97463 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your thoughts! Yes, it is not the best for high gain stuff, though I like it as a boost sometimes to push a high gain amp.
@pekkatervala84763 жыл бұрын
@@gearforest9746 Sure! Much better with a high gain amp/drive channel than, say, DS-1. I feel DS-1 works best with vintage low output humbucker pickups. Not the greatest option with single coils and especially not for hot humbuckers. SD-1 is perfect with strats and my single volume knob tube combo.
@williamsimmons46782 жыл бұрын
Actually i run my tube head in such a way im gettn real eddie type snarl and wail quite satisfied
@msmoniz2 жыл бұрын
Actually because it cut some bass it IS great for power chord stuff in a band mix because it gives the bass guitar frequencies more room and makes your guitar stand out more, since there is less overlap. If guitar and bass have any frequencies that overlap, the guitar will always seem to disappear in the mix. But playing by yourself, yes it will sound thin. It's all about the context of who you're playing with.

Thanks ! Very nice demo here. Exactly what I was after since I am using a telecaster. It sounded really good. Creamy and never oversaturated. I am seriously considering getting one. Does the 13 gauge brings a more darker vibe to the Telecaster or it is the Bassman. I have a 2 different Marshalls but sound way brighter and crunchier on the bridge pick up. Keep up the good work.
