He mightn’t the most technically proficient drummer around but he’s one of the most rhythmic. He was perfect for The Beatles

0:07 it has now come to light that George Martin played that solo on Piano, slowed it to 50% speed and had George Harrison use it as a guide track and play along on his Guitar an Octave lower -- they then sped the track back up to 100%. That solo has annoyed millions of Guitar players (including myself) for nearly 60 years now 🤣

Ringo might not be the greatest drummer ever but he could play with the best and make it look so easy and relaxed.

Gary is like Clapton another friend of George... in fact, Cream reformed with Gary and were called BBM. Gary whilst in BBM play like Clapton. He almost out-Claptoned Clapton.

Sir George Martin had some interesting and very positive things to say in a documentary about the Bee Gees, "This Is Where I Came In," released in 2001. Personally, I consider them equally talented to the Beatles, but just different. For example, the roots of the Beatles' music was rock and roll, whereas the roots of the Bee Gees' music was R&B. They were definitely influenced by the Beatles (as was every other musician), and they all knew each other. John Lennon gave Maurice Gibb an acoustic guitar for his 21st birthday, which he played for the rest of his life. There are many other differences between the two groups, too many to name here, but Sir George was definitely a fan of the boys from Manchester. As are almost all documentaries about musicians and their music, the one about the Bee Gees is definitely worth a look: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIrbenidp8pomNksi=mXlMGvv9LmGt6Dpk And, after Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Barry Gibb is the most successful songwriter in history.

Also if ya dig this song by Ringo on youtube 😀 you may enjoy Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and also read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on KZbin. 😀

He's so humble... Unlike some "great ones". I don't know why but "Octopus Garden", his song, always make me feel "sand in my eyes", not just a great drummer, but a great composer too.

A letter, addressed "To the world's greatest drummer", arrives at the home of Louie Bellson. He takes one look at it, and says, "well, this is obviously not for me", and forwards it to Gene Krupa. Krupa also takes one look at it, and also says, "well, this is obviously not for me", and he forwards it as well. The letter makes the rounds of famous drummers' homes, until it finally winds up at the home of Buddy Rich. He takes one look at it, and says, "well, this is obviously for me", rips it open, and reads: "Dear Ringo...."
