Nice tour, good looking yacht! Thanks. Gotta love those people that just sit around on boat show yachts like they own them! 😂

What headsets are you using? Where did you purchase them? We have a 46’ Crusiers Cantius and need headsets.

They are UltraLite wireless headsets. Here’s the website, you should be able to find a dealer here as well; eartec.com/ultralite/

Love the stern graphics. We’re in Midland and looking for someone to do something similar for us. Care to share your source?

Interesting. I have a 44lb Vulcann with 200' chain and have learned same. You can't be in a hurry to set it. Get it to the bottom and let the chain pay out as the boat drifts back to 3:1. And always set the hook as if you are expecting a storm. We just went through a storm in Goblin bay and it held fantastic.

Hi Experinece has taught me a couple of things with large surface area boats such as yours and mine being a carver 396. When the wind reaches a speed of 18 to 20 knots I place a second anchor out. Plus I open up or take down the canvas on the bridge. Large surface area boats tend to whip around in the wind which puts sideways strain on the anchore resulting in poor holding. Next point is holding strength of the bottom. Silty bottoms just don’t hold very well. Areas such as regatta bay are bad because the bottom is like a ploughed farmers field. I use a 7 to 1 slope Better the chain on the lake bottom than the locker. Ray

Thanks for the feedback. As for a second anchor, I do have a danforth, but have read that you need to rely on your primary anchor as ultimately that is what is going to hold you. Where do you place your secondary anchor, at an angle to the primary anchor?

Rocha is an excellent choice of anchor. I have a delta on Quest. Thought of keeping the delta as a second one and going to the Rocha. Little pricy though. Tests Ive seen show the fastest resetting anchor is the Rocha in most 180 degree resets.

That's what lead me to purchasing the Rocna. We are fine tuning our hardware and will update our anchoring techniques and be diligent about it. Stay tuned, I think I'll make a video about lessons learned on anchoring coming soon.

Hopefully boating has been less dramatic since that afternoon!

When your sitting at the dock, absolutely! Unfortuantly, we haven't been out again as the engines are getting worked on and we haven't been able to use them for the last two weeks ... soon though!

You're in my spot! :) I anchor Drake III right there very often. The incident is strange though. The holding is very good there, and there's no real seaweed in the spring.

The video was taken were our boat rescuers brought the boat back and anchored. We were initially anchored out a bit further.

Nice to see a channel showing the raw reality of boating. It doesn't always go as planned. We are on Lake Erie, Ontario side. We dream of getting up to the Thousand Islands and Georgian Bay one day. Right now we are fixing up our boat trying to get it ready for more serious cruising. We started a channel ourselves Scott Free Boating. Trying to share our experiences fixing up our boat hoping to help others with ideas. Enjoy your season!

Nice share. Do you feel that a boat with 4.5' draft would be able to travel all around Georgian Bay enjoying its many anchorages? Thanks! And, with your 4' draft, which canals did you navigate (Erie, Rideau, and/or Trent-Severn)?
@boatingwithlatitudeadjustment7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! 4.5' draft is fine as long as you stick to the marked channels. If you venture off, study your charts and keep an eye on your depth sounder. Georgian Bay is beautiful, but rocks tend to be unforgiving. As for canals, that's coming up in the future! My understanding is that waterways like the Trent have a controlled depth of 5' but that wouldn't account for a sunken log, so caution is always warranted.

Thank you for getting back to us. We're feeling OK with a 4.5' draft provided we do as you suggest and be extra mindful of the channel markers. Safe Boating!!!

Thanks for the video! The leopard 40PC will be our boat after the Palm Beach show. We close on it after the show. We planned to be in Miami to see it for the first time but work changed our plans. We were hoping someone would film it so we could see it for the first time. Thanks again!
