Patti LaBelle's version of If You Asked Me To should have been Grammy Nominated and / or peaked at the top of the charts. No excuses.
@carolynbrown37664 ай бұрын
I agree but just about all my friends and my family members liked Celine’s version better. I like both versions but I like Patti’s better.

The diana ross motown thing, was that Diana making a big deal about it or was it the media making a big deal about it?

The media

They love to stir up rivalry. They healed that FOREVER AGO. People had the visuals of PATTI + DIANA at Motown reunion and wanted to see a battle and those QUEENS were long past that.
@BrianSummers-g6yАй бұрын
Diana ask Patti to sing , and gave her the mike, Diana Ross knows what Patti LaBelle, can do let's be real she wasn't worried about that, If it a Motown production Diana wants it to be the best it can be.

"Going Down Makes Me Shiver" ?? Ma'am??🤔😂😂😂. Big shout to my absolute favorite singer Patti Labelle 80 years YOUNG!! Keep singing❤❤
@KevinETaylor5 ай бұрын
That song got me the worst whooping. I sang it and YOU TURN ME ON at the top of my lungs, just thinking the words were literal--GOING DOWN TO YOUR RIVER MAKES ME SHIVER AND THE CHILL OF THE WATER MAKES ME FEEL SO GOOD and I COME LIKE THE POURING RAIN, EACH TIME YOU CALL MY NAME! I didn't know anything about lyrics and metaphors and wordplay and because I was so smart, my mother SWORE THAT I KNEW, at 11 LOL

It would be nice if interviewers asked her more about budd and their working process/relationship. Being that he produced like 80% of her albums.

Idk. I hv watched her for a very looooong time now. And pretty much, I’ve seen Rachelle morph into this OVERKILL of too much looking at the outside world of life vs her own self search engine for an explanation of who she is, in her own life’s existence(Think about that for a minute). It seems, when you start to INTERNALIZE life, trying to SEE and DIG into it too deeply…you lose perspective of the simple reality of life and presence that one is suppose to just, LIVE IN IT!. It is real easy to lose yourself when looking for all the intricacies of life that are unexplainable, yet relative. God told us, “I AM TOO MUCH for you to BEHOLD. My thoughts are too high for you to comprehend”. We see this same behavior manifesting in Lauren Hill as well. In my humble opinion, A Human’s only task on earth, in life, should be adhering to: “I give you Life and I give it to you more abundantly!”. There simply are NO TRICKS and GIMMICKS to LIFE!. Live and let Die.

A MIRACULOUS VOICE!!. Rachelle needs to STAY IN THE PRESENT. Appreciate her GIFT. Share it with the Universe and keep HER LIFE MOVING. She’s putting “unnecessary pauses” in her life!. She’s self sabotaging herself, with CARRYING around her OLD STORY of the Industry and what they did to her. She desires to EXPLAIN herself’s existence, every chance she gets. She has to understand and realize that she’ll NEVER understand the depths of herself in this life(none of us know ourselves fully). What we do know, is what God has given us, our Gifts, and they’re to be revealed to the universe, so that HE GETS THE GLORY!…

KEVIN ? At the end of the month I will be attending a 5 day bee keeper convention at the UMASS Campus Center where Natalie first got paid to do what she loved doing. Singing. I am very proud to have been that lyrical Angel on her shoulder who believed in her. Years later I asked her to perform on my Burbank production "ON RIVERSIDE DRIVE". Unfortunately her schedule conflicted. "GLORY-CLORY'" was a one of the proposed tunes. ENJOY IT KEVIN. And thanks for your thanks. It means much to me.
