Escape (which is Ride The Lightning's "worst" song) is still better than every song released from 2003 to present day

Caralho, que foda! Se as pessoas parassem com essas rivalidades bestas e simplesmente percebessem o quão foda isso foi.

This song helped me get through some tough times as a kid. LOVE that they eventually played it live!

I think its because it's harder for James to sing the whole song in a higher key since his voice got deeper after ride the lighting

Hey man! I don't know if you'll still be around but I'd like to know if it's possible for you to upload the full show without cuts?

In my teenage days I don't like this song on album and always skipping that song but now I surprised how cool this song is and riffs, special in front of last couple albuy after St.Anger when everything go wrong except couple songs

Lars is SO OFF AT DRUMMING! LIKE WHAT??? He is genuinely one of the best, and the worst drummers at the same time! Also, I LOVE how Robert played Welcome to Paradise bassline 😂

My band covered this song in the late 80s and I loved jamming it out man. I was the rhythm guitarist and the rhythm behind the lead section and end of the song is heavy AF. One of my favorites to play ever.

I had a 500 mb mp3 player in school in the mid 2000s ride the lightning was a good chunk of the memory in it so I heard this song a lot. I’ve always loved it, I found it to be very uplifting.

According to Apple Music, this is one of the top-100 most played songs in my music library, so I clearly don’t have a problem with it. 🤘🏻

I have to tell everyone here…This actually a very good song…specifically as a counter-balance for “Fade to Black”on the album… Maybe that’s why they don’t like it…it’s too simple and just contradicts a time when they didn’t feel very optimistic. I will take this over anything on St. Anger…or the Black Album…songs “Sad but True” and “Holier Than Thou”..filler… “Don’t Tread on Me” and “Of Wolf and Man”….JUST MY OPINION…very insignificant… I love Escape. It fits well on the album that is very existential…and strangely hopeful in such a dark..heavy album!

The reason they hate so much is because the record label that they we’re with at the time told them to write a more family friendly song to get them on radio stations. At that time Metallica didn’t care about any of that. Ironically the song is about breaking free from rules and living life your way. Great song but i understand how they hate it.

I remember walking down the street and listening to some stolen mp3s of these guys probably around the time they did this live and having probably about two decades of loving Metallica under my belt and I heard this song and had no idea what it was. I'm sure I must have heard it but had just forgotten it. Either way, it was fucking awesome to hear a "new" song by them 😂

James clearly dislikes it because he can’t sing it. Transpose it a half step down, problem solved. You’re welcome, Metallica. 😄
