I often compare this show to its competition The Munsters. And I think the main reason that the legacy of The Addams Family has been so much stronger than that of The Munsters is this: The Munsters was basically a kind of lazy fish-out-of-water trope. Let’s just put literal monsters in common sitcom situations. The Addams Family, on the other hand, curated specifically to the concept of the weird family itself. It was never borrowed material, but instead an incredibly unique look into a strange and wonderful family that no one had ever seen before. It was groundbreaking in the aspects of what you can joke about on TV, never judging a book by its cover and what genuine familial love should actually look like.

I remember Bela Lugosi i watched his movies when i younger back in the early 50s

It's good to see Lugosi getting a lot of the credit that he deserved. Watch his old films--even the great ones and the not so great. A truly marvelous actor.
