Okay, what I am getting here is that there is value in not forcing things and enjoying waiting. The waiting room is now, and you can enjoy the now in the sense of Ekart Tolle, etc. Either way, I always enjoy your message

Awesome. And right, the here and now is where magic exists and we as human beings, tend to overlook the gifts that our present moment exist for us. Cheers for your love and support 🙏🏽

I'm sure it will happen for you and you will get there one day. And you are doing it, which is half way there. keep it up! I agree with you about the social media and I feel like I could definitely get some break from it. I try to use the feeling of envy or jealousy as a fuel and keep trying. Hope you have a beautiful day ❤️🌈

I’ve been away from Instagram for long, for about 5 years. I’ve been better than before. However, one day, I dropped in it with any reason that I don’t remember, I saw a post of one of my friend who is not very close friend. She’s gotten married and had a baby. She was posting how much she felt happy. I felt miserable and much more lonely. I didn’t go to Instagram to watch the post but it came into my eyes and stuck my mind. She is the same age as me and I had been suffering to move forward after breaking up with my boyfriend whom I supposed to get married with. I’m still single and struggling not to compare my life to others’. It’s tough though.

I have been living alone (and not working) for more than 10 years. My life is quite structure after waking up and I follow a daily routine. I connect with friends on social media and go for weekly badminton. Sometime I meet up with friends or spoke to them on the phone. For me, I like this kind of arrangement. By the way, I lived in a small city state (Singapore).

Oooohhhh…I love this video. 💜 You know, I’m married (and I’ve been with my husband for 25 years) and loneliness doesn’t change when you get married. And actually, I have a healthy relationship with my husband and we get along well. I do think being single can be more lonely, but at the same time loneliness is its own separate animal. I like to lump it in with a feeling I called divine discontent, where we are always feeling like we are not enough or we need to be feel valued. And, interestingly, just based on who I’ve talked to over the years I think this is true for pretty much everyone. What I realized after being in a long-term relationship for a while is that loneliness has nothing to do with who we are around. I really do think it’s kind of an existential feeling that we all have. And that was kind of freeing in a way. Like I realized I didn’t have to fix it. I think that’s the part that I really love about this video. Well I mean, I love the whole thing! But you understand that you’re not just going to feel great all the time. And there’s something perfect about that. The endless cycle of processing deep emotions, feeling a bit better, and then diving back into the difficult emotions. Diving for pearls! 🦪 Also: you made me crack me up when you talked about reaching for mediocre connections when feeling lonely, and then feeling this weird dissatisfaction because you know it wasn’t really that fulfilling? I know exactly what you’re talking about. I’ve had that feeling like: oh I really need to get together with this person or I had some other justification only to find out that was reaching for it out of some sense of desperation or maybe not being OK with my own process or my own company. But even that is kind of perfect because it just affirms that there is this codependent feeling that we all have that if we find the right friend or partner or group, then we will feel whole…but often we might just be annoyed. 😂 I will say that I have really felt more comfortable being alone in recent years. But it’s like an interesting thing that even when I’m alone, I still feel connected to all these various people in my life. And that’s not always a good thing because sometimes I just feel upset or worried about them which is another thing I want to let go of. But, none of this means that connection isn’t worthwhile. I also love your nature videos, and being in nature is like it’s almost impossible to be alone in nature, and not just because of all the bugs that seem to like to bite you! Ok! This went on for way too long as a comment. Lol. Thank you for this awesome video. Have a swell day! 👋🏽🧡

Aww thank you so much for this thoughtful comment and for taking the time to write it! I like what you said that loneliness doesn't necessarily mean it's to do with being around others, but more to do with our internal state. And YES to diving for PEARLS! 🤍🦪

I think the perceived wisdom of children is due to their unfiltered and uncorrupted thought and expression. Adults are concerned with how they'll be perceived and that compromises their ability to express themselves. Adults also corrupt their own thoughts by developing coping mechanisms to avoid pain, so they lie to themselves, which compromises their ability to understand themselves.

As always, thank you so much for the video! I think the combination of social media and mobile phones exacerbate the negatives of both. Social media wouldn't be as bad if access to it was limited, but phones mean people have access to it 24/7. I regularly go to a local coffee shop and almost no one ever approaches me, as they are distracted by their phones. Their focus on their phones also acts as a barrier to me approaching them. So despite being surrounded by people and me wanting to engage with people, it rarely happens. This across a society will lead to loneliness.

There's a cafe in Amsterdam that's strictly no phones and a place for people to partake in their hobbies so like drawing or knitting together, and encouraging strangers to chat with each other. It looks so wonderful and also sad that that is a thing now...as if it's novelty for people to come together to do hobbies together when back in the 90's that's the norm. It definitely does create a barrier when we see people on their phones constantly.

I'd love to go to somewhere like that. Maybe I can convince a local cafe to hold a no phones/hobby morning once a week. I can just remember the world before the internet, it was better in so many ways. The internet was alright when you had to sit at a computer to use it, but the smart phone made it accessible 24/7 and that was when the biggest social shift happened.

Thank you for the thought provoking video! Love allows us to empathise with those that hurt us. Usually it's misguided intentions that cause the hurt. Our parents are a product of their parents and society. They sail within the comfort of conformity and to deviate from that course is to recognise the hurt they have inflicted on the most precious monument to their existence, their child. So most parents do the comfortable thing and blame their child, rather than steer off the comfy course into the greatest storm of regret. My advice to people is that if someone hurts you, don't pretend they didn't, but if they recognise that they did, they're genuinely sorry and trying to change, recognise that fact. Resentment may pressure you to avoid recognition of that fact to punish them for the hurt they inflicted. Resentment can trap you into punishing people for doing the right thing and trying to change, that's why love and empathy ultimately need to rule.

We can't change our conditioning unless we are PRESENT long enough to see this subconscious "baggage" playing out in our thoughts and actions. Q. Did it rain soon after you sneezed? This is the 'hidden' conditioning I'm talking about, do you see what I mean? (The "Real" / "False" Beliefs and Stories in our 'Hard-Drive' / 'Operating system' programmed from young by repetition, repetition, repetition ... just use the same method consciously to replace the old with new "positive" thoughts and actions in the Present when we see this stuff). Nice video!

The modern world is a caricature of living. A house is a caricature of shelter. A grocery store is a caricature of food that's been hunted and gathered. Our jobs are a caricature of hunting, gathering and building shelter. Social media is caricature of sitting around a fire, sharing stories and entertaining one another. If you seek happiness in the modern world, you will only ever find a caricature of happiness, not true happiness. One of the reasons listening to your body is so important, is because you are not a caricature, you're not some weird exagerated abstract of what it is to be human, you are just human. Trust your body, it knows what it is to be truly human.
