I'm also wondering if the "Trading algorithms" got changed or broke and no one notices? why? I see stocks going up on information that used to send things down or to not move. But more poignantly, I see stocks now regularly go up 8-12% on average to OK earnings, where +4-5% used to be normal for a decent earnings report. Did Wall St go in and retype in a higher percent increase to buy stocks at after earnings? Seems like a huge move for meeting average expectations. It's like we keep pricing average news/expectations as if it's some stellar piece of news.

Interesting take and you are right on in the fact that this system needs the infrastructure/computing power to maintain it's value. Not sure that you know this but there are a number of rogue network repeaters around the west being used to transport and transact the crypto infrastructure. There are a number of fragile infrastructure pieces but communication is fragile and important systems. The Amateur Radio Emergency system groups in Bernalillo and Sandoval county provide essential comm services that are really very robust but have as far as I see limitations in replacing the internet. Both the counties though do have have full internet connections. I have a fairly famous friend who has been pushing me to get into the emerging crypto financial system to get a Quantum Financial System credit card. My argument has been that I don't see any advantage on relying on its existing computing infrastructure when I don't have that much faith on on our existing computing system. I am too tied up with the existing system and if it goes so will the crypto system and we will all be in a world of hurt. Our survival depends on the the existing infrastructure persisting. And on that cheery note please keep the existing system going. Craig

Overnight Repo is but one of many problems including unrealized losses, auto-loan, small business, CRE defaults etc. as you are aware, never mind derivatives counter-party-risk. A major credit crisis is coming on the heels of a very weak economy. AIPAC war overseas plus serious racial-immigration crisis inside America will likely trigger a major global-financial and eventually political crisis that could break the USG. Neither puppet running for office or the 2-party system are prepared, and will more than likely lose control of the nation as a debt-default cycle strikes. However, such a crisis is both necessary and beneficial. It will enable the creation of a new, more sustainable economy and nation. Keep up the good work.
