Hi, As I know that DMU Kinematics Tool in catiav5 (or the old versions of catia) doesn't support to create a simulation for a spring as a single body. However, there are still several solutions to create a simulation or an animation for a spring: 1. the same way I did (separate a spring into the segments) 2. create kinematic simulation, activate sensors mode, use Laws (Formula) for the parameters of the spring as height, revolutions or pitch, simulate the spring then use the "video recorder" function in catia v5 to create frames for each step of kinematic simulation with sensor. (for sure, this is not a real kinematic simulation, that's just a way we create a video from many frames) 3. Use Analysis Tool in Catia in Catia, on the toolbar -> Analysis & Simulation -> Generative Structural Analysis. when using this function, the spring will be compressed by forces

Hi, U can create any text or number in Catia by using Drafting. On the toolbar of Catia, above-left corner, click "Start" --> Mechanical Design --> Drafting --> click "OK" --> Drafting window will be opened. U can see the icon "T" for creating Text --> one click on that "T" icon (the icon T will be changed to orange color) --> one click on the grid page of Drafting then u can see a small "Text Editor" window will appear to write text.

And then, u have to save file under ".dxf". After creating Text, on the toolbar, click "File" then click "Save" (or u can also use short command as "Ctrl+S" on the keyboard to save file), a window appears, in the "Save file As" u chose "dxf" There are also several tutorial videos in my channel that I showed the details of creating text in Part & Shape Design

Hi, 👋 U can get the dimensions if you have a real adjustable wrench and a mesurement scale (a ruler, digital caliper or a tape mesure) in your hands 🙂. I did so, too. Or you can use the random dimensions if u can remember or imagine its shape when u design.

Or you can make your own dxf file in drafting, it's very easy my friend. Open drafting -> click "T" icon, after then write any text you want, and then selecting ".dxf" when you save file.

You can modify all parameters for partdesign by clicking "option" -> "infrastructure" -> "part infrastructure"
