Thank you for posting this. What a ridiculously stupid design. These bikes have absolutely no consideration for maintenance or disassembly. Appreciate you sharing the cheat code.

Thank you! For all you asking how to get the rivets back in, make sure you insert the "expanded" side first, and it helps to gently squeeze them together with a needle nose. Then I found it worked best (after lining up all the holes) to work on the two inside holes toward the front of the bike, then work your way back. If they're lined up, you should just be able to push them in with your fingers. Then push the headed-rivet into each of the rivet holes.Push hard until you feel it click.

With current gearing I've had her up to 60mph and she was still pulling, but that's plenty fast for this little bike. Shock travel is same as stock, it's a 10.5 x 3.5.

@@mauricemalone6717 Yes I did. I bought a rock shox with 550 lbs sping. Works great. You need: Rock Shox vivid coil 267 x 89 with the right bushings 8 mm width 23,8 mm Or wait until restock... ;-) but this spring works great

550 is too light anyway,if you are doing any real off road riding you need a heavier spring or your shock will blow and your linkage will bend.I got a 700 spring but I will change to 750

Thanks for the tutorial. Did you get those farthest rear 2 clips back on? My new longer fender isnt the best fit and those back two holes no longer line up. Poor design in my opinion these clips would better be a few bolts or screws holding things in place back there.

Hey Rob, I didn't have any trouble lining the holes up to get the clips back in after installing my extended fender. Is your fender from Dirty Bike Industries?
@chromeaddict
@chromeaddict 3 жыл бұрын
It is. Seems too thick top to bottom where it meets right under the back of seat. Mine didn’t have the little slots that the stock fender had to slide into place. Did yours?
@surrondad5037
@surrondad5037 3 жыл бұрын
The DB fender mounts a little bit differently than the stock fender. It goes on top of the rear subframe, in between the subframe and the seat. With the seat off, slot the two holes in the fender onto the two rear posts/bolts on the seat, then slot all four seat posts/bolts down into the holes in the subframe and tighten the nuts. It's kind of hard to explain, does this make sense? (My fender came with a couple of diagrams that helped show how it's mounted.)
@chromeaddict
@chromeaddict 3 жыл бұрын
@@surrondad5037 Mine is mounted same as yours, inbetween the seat and the subframe. I dont recall four seat post bolts only two but I could be mistaken. Either way the addition of the fender kicks the seat up a 1/4 inch or so and makes the alignment of those rear two clip holes off. Not the end of the world the seat is still mounted pretty solid without them. Thanks again for the tutorial.
