I live in the UK and it always makes me sad to think how the culture and lifestyle of the native Americans was completely and utterly destroyed. There is a lot of focus on aborigines in Australia and Maoris in New Zealand, but the native Americans seem to have been forgotten. I went to the native American museum in Washington and have to say it was terrible and seemed to be justifying what happened. So, keep up the traditions.

Do they ever have powwows in Colorado or near?
@jasabigmountain235919 күн бұрын
Colorado has one of the largest powwows in the circuit. It’s called Denver March Powwow. Held in Denver, of course. And held in March, of course. You can look on Facebook for more information on it

Que bueno que prevalecen. Dios los bendiga. Desde siempre cantan y mantienen la unidad. Desde🇵🇦👋
banshee wailing with four-count-drumming. It seems every You Tube Pow wow video is the same. (except for the T-shirts they wear).

Stately, Eligence and Power is what was just displayed in that dance and all the traditional women dances. The Power of the women who kept the communities together all these years.

That’s how you straight dance. Not zipping around the arena to see how many laps you can do to the song.

Thanks! I woke up to the drumming this morning. There's nothing better for getting the blood flowing. The first time I attended the United Indians of All Tribes Pow Wow in Seattle (about 1980-something), which was open to the public, one of the dancers accidentally dropped an eagle feather. As the procession stopped, a bald eagle flew overhead across the open area. As they were finishing the special private ceremony to retrieve the feather, the eagle flew back across overhead. Ever since that day, I have always considered sighting an eagle, especially when it flies overhead, to be a blessing.
